Gun sales are going down again because no one believes that Obama is sending his jackbooted thugs to collect all of American's guns any more.
Or, perhaps better said, because the people who do believe that already stocked up.

It doesn;t have anything to do with a change in perception about Obama. If anything.. folks are more worried after his announcements of taking executive action and his town hall.
The nics check is not really a good way to track gun sales.. since a nics check is not required to purchase a firearm.

It may not be the "jackbooted" thugs they're worried about as much as the ones down the road that tend to burn down neighborhoods and parts of whole cities. Just a thought.
The difference is that the guys down the street are real.
and the NICS check doesn't indicate if you bought 1-2-3-4 guns at one time

Shows a lot of people not falling for the "wild, wild west" meme, taking responsibility for themselves and getting their CCWs.....
Uh, how can that be if checks are falling in number?
Checks are actually climbing in number. But as the article explained, a sizable portion are actually CCW applications.
I don't get the difference.

most people who are applying for CCW licenses generally already own a gun (especially in states where you have to pass a shooting test to get the license). They do a background check at the sheriff's office for anyone applying for a CCW (at least in Ohio)
so an increase in the number of background checks apparently is as much a factor of people getting licenses to carry as it is people buying more firearms
I am glad that Jet57 "liked" this post.
but doesn't it just annoy the heck out of you that these anti gun people like to talk about "common sense gun laws".,. and firearms... when they have absolutely no idea what they are talking about or what the laws are actually on the books..and what they entail?
you'd think that once they realized that their assumptions were flawed.. that they would step back and reassess their position. But that never seems to happen.
