"Women are the fastest growing demographic in the gun industry, ..." is an interesting development. Women taking charge of their self defense and not relying on others to do so for them.

Gun makers streamline pistols for women who carry - Feb. 2, 2016

Women are driving the gun industry to crank out new guns just for them, including pistols tailored for smaller hands and handbags with holsters.

Women are the fastest growing demographic in the gun industry, pushing background checks to a record high last year. Motivated by fear in what seems to be an increasingly dangerous world, they're buying guns for self-defense.

They're not just buying handguns that are pink and purple. They're buying guns that are easily carried and concealed. Concealed carry permits are on the rise, and women are signing up in increasing numbers.

Gun manufacturers are responding by streamlining their pistols to easily be concealed and to fit feminine hands.

"Women have always been around in the industry," said Glock spokeswoman Kie Wagner at an outdoor gun range in the desert of Boulder City, Nevada. "We've always been here; we've always been shooting."

But the fast pace of their growing enthusiasm is something new, and it's demanding the attention of gunmakers like Glock.

...

About time. This is a good deal. They are a little slow in picking up on this but at least they are doing something.

I hear gun haters' heads explode all over the world.

Probably because they prefer their women to be docile and only look to their menfolk for guidance and protection.

I want my wife to be able to fight back rather than follow the advice of the Bannite bozos who tell women to piss their panties and crap themselves to deter a rape. My feeling is I want the rapist pissing his pants and crapping himself right before his intended victim blows out his eyeball with a 9mm she had carried concealed legally

We have been having problems with our neighbors for about two years. We had to call the sheriff about an issue. It took the sheriff about two days to get around to it. It wasn't serious, he knows us and knew it was okay to get to it when he could. When he did show up the wife and I were walking the dog so we weren't home. He came up the road looking for us figuring that it was around the time that we walked the dog. When he pulled up he noticed the wife had her very handsome looking Galco shoulder rig on. He asked her if she always wore her rig while we were out walking. She answered that it was normal. He said, "Good, glad to hear it." Then he looked at me and said, "At least we have one responsible adult in the group." The ahole.

Lol my mom wants a purple gun. Maybe for breast cancer awareness I'll get a cute little pink .22 in the future.

Every man has to show his soft side once in a while.

"You ladies tell your mothers, sisters, and daughters to get their license to carry".

That is what our Sheriff told the women in my wife's last renewal class.

As far as streamlining, my wife can not find a suitable replacement for her beloved SP-101.

Hard to replace a SP-101.....they grow on ya. Most women don't care for them because of the heavier trigger pull.

I have a great little .22 I love but it would be so much better in purple. :)

You can get some pretty cool stuff for your gun still.

Evere hear of hydro-dipping? And it's not even all that expensive to buy the kits

Just about any Smith can do that.:2razz:

3 in smith and wesson 686+ or the smith combat magnum model 66.

Ive never heard of hydro-dipping so I'll have to check it out. I recently spray painted my rims black with some kind of peel off latex something or the other my brother got, is that anywhere near the same thing? I'm pretty clueless on that kind of thing and I'm also lazy right now to do the research myself.

Basically...

#1 you buy the hydro dip kit

#2 spread a special sheet of camo (and there are many to choose from) on a bucket of water (it floats)

#3 whatever parts of your gun you want to camoflauge, you just dip it into the sheet and then take it out and let it dry.

#4 Admire the beauty, this stuff is seriously better than your average spray painting and can transfer picture-perfect quality camo on your gun (and even anything else other than a gun that you feel like dipping) that's also surprisingly durable.

This short little video shows you what it can do. The guy dips his hand (now he's got a badass carbon fiber hand...).

Correction:
"Accurate Ahole"
Next time do not make your wife pull security on her own. Now gives us 20 Pushups.

Guns are indeed the best equalizer for women who are often victims of violent crime from much stronger and larger men. It's wise to engineer more of them specifically for women who carry.

Exactly. Tasers and pepper spray don't have the take-down capability, or reliability, or intimidation power that a gun has.
