Best Revolvers for Defensive carry?

Here is my Ruger SP101 .357 with 3" barrel.

It is a no frills piece, but built extremely rugged.

It's a bit heavy for a small frame revolver at 27 ounces, but the weight actually helps when sending 100-150 rounds down range with .38's ....... .357 magnums are another story ;)

I had the trigger pull lightened up.

I have played around with various grips, but I keep going back to the stock ones. They are smallish for my XL hand size, but very comfortable overall.

My defense rounds are Winchester .38 +P's

Holster is a Classic Old West which was made for a Ruger GP 100, but I had the leather tucked to hold the SP101

Nice holster, I'm always worried about non critical defense HP since most I have seen get clogged up from clothes pretty easily.

I have never gotten the appeal the of Rugers, yes they can handle much hotter loads then a SW, but to me their handles, triggers, and sights just feel wrong to me.

I bought it as gift for my Godfather's wife who wanted something when he was away on business-they live at the end of a long drive in the woods- bit remote, She tried several guns at the range and liked the Ruger due to its weight so that is what I got her

I grew up shooting SW Model 10 and 19 Davis customized PPC revolvers and now a well known local guy named Jack Basham does all the triggers on our SW competition rigs

Nah, I was a shooter for EAA when they first made a big play for USPSA/IPSC supremacy. Sadly I was never in Eric Graufel's league!. I also shot for Perazzi and then Krieghoff. for pistols I am pretty much exclusively shooting CZ custom shop these days but I don't do the pro circuit any more so other than getting priority on some of their guns, I am not getting them free or marked down

I was a staff shooter for several archery companies over the last 20 years including, Martin, SKY, PSE, Bear/Jennings, Hoyt and Excalibur Crossbows
