Baltimore Sun reporter: I'm more scared of legal gun owners then crinimals with guns.

Re: Baltimore Sun reporter: I'm more scared of legal gun owners then crinimals with g

More utter foolishness from the anti-gun crowd.

Not only did she say...

"I'm less afraid of the criminals wielding guns in Baltimore, I declared as we discussed the issue, than I am by those permitted gun owners."

But she is also for...

" I thought, that's all well and good, but how about adding something immediately useful: a gun owner registry available to the public online — something like those for sex offenders. I'm not equating gun owners with predatory perverts, but the model is helpful here; I want a searchable database I can consult to find out whether my kid can have a play date at your house."

The stupidity of this crowd knows no bounds. Not only was there was little in the entire piece about dealing with criminals who have guns, but this was basically an attack on anyone who may legally own guns. Including her own family, and she is arguing for a right she does not have. Knowing who all owns a gun (well, those legally... she could give a **** about those who obtained one illegally.)

Not to mention her total lack of concern for "lower class" folks that actually do face great chances of being caught in the crossfire of gang maggots and thugs. In her carefully controlled world, her child faces enormous clear and present danger from her friend's parents that own guns. She obviously feels uncomfortable having to personally ask those "higher class" folks if they might leave their loaded guns laying about and would like the government to tell her instead so that she may properly shun them.

She is the stereotype of being an elitist.

Astonishing ignorance. Available statistics indicate that CCWers are, on the whole, far more law abiding and peaceable than the average citizen... comparing them to CRIMINALS is beyond the pale of ridiculousness.

WE are not the problem. We are not your enemy... if we were, Anti's would be a rare breed since we own all the guns... duh. :)

Shhh that is a secret.

She is the stereotype of being an elitist.

Among having other personal issues, yes. She seems to see it as impossible that gun owners with children might actually secure their guns, because her relatives do not. She never did say whether she shuns her relatives with guns, somehow I suspect not.

Re: Baltimore Sun reporter: I'm more scared of legal gun owners then crinimals with g

Yep, stupid and gullible. Clearly bought into "our society is extremely violent and we can't trust legal guns owners either" meme.

She misuses statistics, displays assumption bias, and clearly uses stereotyping in this mis-informed personal opinion.

Again, gun owners make up between 75 million to 110 million citizens. Even throwing in suicides, which make up nearly 70% of annual gun deaths, the current value is 10.7 deaths per 100,000. That's 0.00011 of the total population. Reduce that by 70% for suicides and it's 4 per 100,000, or 0.00004 of the population. Allow for law enforcement, self-defense, and accidents? 2 per 100,000 or 0.00002 of the population annually.

How is that a violent society?

Moreover, it shows that over 99% of the gun owning population does no harm! I'm sick of this "I'm afraid of gun owners and we need more control because they are nutters!" ideology.

Here's some of her nonsense...

And I'm pretty certain that if I'd had a gun the one time I was the victim of a violent crime (in upstate New York), the outcome would have been a lot worse than it was, with the firearm turned against me in short order. Instead, I was able to scream and break away from a mugger with a dull knife trying to force me into a vacant lot between rowhouses.

1. If he was trying to drag you into a vacant lot, he probably had more in mind that just theft, and you're lucky to be alive and un-raped.

2. If you think that way (that you having a gun would just get it taken from you in such a life-threatening circumstance) then yeah, YOU probably do NOT need to carry a gun... you don't have the right mindset. The right mindset would be "I need to get the right kind of training so I can defend myself and stop someone from taking my gun." Also, if you won't fire it don't carry it.

3. Projection, a common Anti fault... projecting their own sense of helplessness and incompetence onto everyone else.

The stupidity of this woman is unbelievable.

Permitted guns owners, especially those that concealed carry, are way more dangerous to my person safety than criminals with guns. Easily.

That's because ya'll think you're "trained to safely handle guns" which is complete ignorance of accidental discharges, irrationality (road rage), alcohol and attempting vigilantism.

Really! Really?

I can't wait to see what factoid you manage to pull out of your rectum to support this claim.

Eagerly awaiting your justifications for this belief. :coffeepap:

Hmmmmm, let's see all the links proving the extreme danger presented to you by licensed gun carriers.

It's funny because if I saw her, then she'd probably be a couple steps below me.

Boy would I love to knock her ass down a few pegs.

Husband-
"That asshole cut in front of me on the highway!"

Wife-
"Oh my..."

Husband-
"That's not all. I got so angry at him for delaying me by 2 seconds that I ****ing unloaded the magazine in that bastard"

*takes them off*

Well that was an adventure... His world view is so skewed...

that's really stupid even if you believe permitted gun holders are less likely to support gay rights and left wing politicians than thugs who almost never vote.

First comment to the twit was this

Hilarious

This writer proves that liberalism / Progressivism is a disease of the brain. Typical snarky, know-it-all , smartest in the room white guilted liberal with absolutely no clue of the subject matter she is addressing. I have been shooting for recreation, sport and competition for 35 years- yes, there are other uses for firearms - the and yes it is not the firearm that decides to kill - it's the person operating it. Wow- new levels of stupidity have been reached.
