To Gun Banners: Here are my Guns, why should I have them be taken away.

Because I like them, I like shooting and reloading, thinking of the history of some of my guns, the workmanship and interesting operating modes, same reason I buy a particular car, bicycle, home or stove. Why do you want to know?

As Jeff Cooper said a .25 in the hand is better than a .45 in the safe. It's what you like and are comfortable with becasue it is better to have one when you need it that have it gathering dust at home. Maybe one needs more that one :lol:

I agree. I want one. I want a .44 mag. I want a .357 also. I just couldn't resist the chance to rib you a little.

For a .357 mag, go for a Model 686 + 4 in Barrel. You can also shoot .38 spl with it.

For a .44 mag go for a model 629 6 in (or longer if you plan to hunt with it). You can also shoot .44 spl with it.

Sweet revolvers. Son Numbah One is drooling over my shoulder, he loves wheelguns. :)


I don't fool with the laser sights though. When I hit my shooting stance I can't see the dot without lowering the pistol a bit, and don't see much sense in breaking my posture for the sake of an aiming aid, when my stance and hand position IS my aim. Maybe one day someone will make laser sights you can see over the top of the iron sights...

I was thinking the Ruger Redhawk for the .44 and the Ruger SP101 for the .357 but I haven't handled them. I will check out the S&Ws when we start looking. I already have the dies for both.

If you like the feel of the Ruger, go for it, I personally can't stand Rugers. SW has the best trigger pull of any gun.

The laser is for when I don't have time to aim using the iron sights. I can active the laser as I draw the weapon in one clean motion.

There is a reason why all of us old time 60X PPC shooters and now steel shooters-revolver division competitors shoot Smith and Wessons.

Turtledude openly told me he think the Left Wing wants to ban all guns. I was in such stupidity shock I got Forest Whitaker eye for a minute.

not all lefties are gun banners. Prominent self described "Communist" attorney Ron Kuby had a "when guns are outlawed, I'll be an outlaw" on his car back in the days I knew him

However, almost every gun banner is leftwing as the posters on this board other others suggest

I had J frames before and liked 'em, but always wanted a Chief's Special. Great little pocket guns.

Yeah, it always was an extremely popular lady's gun, especially for petite women. Ironically though, its lightness and compactness means it kicks a bit more than a heavier frame Smith. So you get a light small gun, but its kick can be a little sharp with stock grips.

I have a S & W Model 28-2, brushed nickel highway patrolman - .357. It's one of fifty made. Great gun - I've always liked it. I shoot a few rounds with it every year or so now, inspect and clean it, and put it away.

It is just a .38 spl. Not much recoil.

No, it's not a 'heavy' recoil in the general sense, but it can be a bit sharp with the stock wood grips and hotter loads.

It is a very small light gun, especially in the 2" version, and with the skinny stock grips and the exposed rear frame strap, along with +p loads, it delivered a bit of 'sharpness' in the recoil, for lack of better words. It surprised me compared to firing the +ps in the heavier framed Smiths. Nothing unmanageable, but was surprising. This is from my memories back in the '80's. My understanding is aftermarket grips resolved that.

(there also was an 'airweight' alloy version that was even lighter, but I never fired one).
