Producer reveals secret project to Howard Stern

Movie producer Harvey Weinstein announced for the first time on Howard Stern’s radio show that he is making a full feature drama to try to destroy the National Rifle Association. Mr. Stern asked Mr. Weinstein on Wednesday whether he owned a gun. The Hollywood heavyweight replied that he did not and never would. “I don’t think we need guns in this country. And I hate it,” the producer said. “I think the NRA is a disaster area.”

Mr. Weinstein then revealed his secret project about the gun rights group. “I shouldn’t say this, but I’ll tell it to you, Howard,” he said. “I’m going to make a movie with Meryl Streep, and we’re going to take this head-on. And they’re going to wish they weren’t alive after I’m done with them.

That asshole producer sure fuels some rather nasty stereotypes when it comes to the anti gun movement in this country. Criminals ought to take note that he has not the means to defend himself.
 
If he thinks that a movie is going to make the NRA "wish they weren't alive", I'd say the man is either delusional, or stupid.

I'm sorry, but I find the bolded to be laughable. The idiot doesn't realize that people who shoot and own firearms are never going to be scared away from them, no matter how many scary movies are made about them? Maybe young kids who have never been around them, but Jesus Christ, I can't believe he actually thinks that way. Is this his version of the war on drugs? Scare 'em straight. He's a typical hypocrite lefty and one of the wealthiest too. He's got armed people defending him, at the studio and his neighborhood-no doubt.

Yeah, I'm sure another uninformed jackass who admittedly has a bias and knows nothing about the subject at large is going to "embarrass" the firearms community. :roll:

More likely, he is going to piss off half the country, lose that half in future viewership, and have a lull in old movie purchases if anything.

Keep in mind that this is the same Harvey Weinstein that produced the pedophile suggestive movie Kids and publicly protested director Roman Polanski's arrest for drugging and sodomizing a thirteen year old child.

This is what irks me about the anti-2nd amendment crowd.They are more than happy to **** all over the 2nd amendment while having guns guard their asses. For example the president wants to ban so called assault weapons but I bet he has many guarding his ass.

There have been lots of movies that have made me wish I wasn't alive after I've seen them but usually an actress of Streep's quality isn't in them. They usually have really crappy actors that make me want to blow my brains out because the suck so much. She'll have to d one hell of an acting job to sink to those levels!!!!!
 
I doubt anything Hollywood produces will change anyones political positions. They are using their own money to do this and they have a 1st amendment right to criticize the 2nd amendment.

It will do as well as The Day After or whatever it was that suggested global warming was going to freeze out north America + and their many court cases like Erin Brockovich (notice they didn't put the part of her complaining about her income taxes in the movie). Hollywoods agenda is clear and in focus - fortunately even the majority of sheeple get it like a polar bear on extra thick ice!

I know that Ms. Streep is considered, in some circles, to be one of he greatest movie actresses of our time; but I can only think of two movies I've ever seen her in, and neither of them was a very good movie at all. I can think of perhaps only a handful of others movies in which she appeared, but which any advertising for thee movies utterly failed to convince me that they would be worth watching.

Are there really any examples of any good movies, in which Ms. Streep appears and in which her talents contributed significantly to these movies?
