Also note when the Democrats took control.

Today liberal means big government liberalism and expansion of the Nanny State.

Yes, liberal means, "I want to enslave you and take your property."

That's why we started using "Modern Sporting Rifle". Today, only anti-gun uses "assault weapon".

Mhmm. It works pretty good, too.

Regarding abortion, calling the ZEF a 'child' will mark you as an enemy of pro-choice. Go ahead and try it sometime...try making a pro-choice argument, but change the word you use to refer to the ZEF to 'child', keeping everything else the same.

I know this because I was there early in this forum's history when "ZEF" was generally accepted by both sides as acceptable nomenclature.

Many species use calls, songs, scents...hell even gangs use hand signs...to mark friend from foe. If we were to regard a side of a political position as a micro-culture, it follows that that culture would likewise evolve a way to mark friend from foe.

Humans aren't as evolved a species as we like to think we are.

"anti-gun" is an assumption on our part. Just because someone dos not see eye to eye on the gun issues certainly dos not mean that a person is anti-gun.

"Assault rifle", "assault weapon" is the same thing. These are not defensive weapons by design. These are weapons of warfare that are designed to have certain advantages over other weapons: firing rate, ammunition, high capacity clips, adverse condition resistance etc. For instance, the AK47 is almost indestructible with respect to sand, water, mud and other conditions that jam other weapons right up. The old M16s were supposed to have had chrome chambers to keep the ball powder from gumming up the bolt mechanism, but the government didn't want to spend the money on that or stick powder, which doesn't gum up like that, so a lot of guys died in firefights with jammed weapons. The point being, your average rifle or pistol is not made for battle conditions. Assault weapons are. So, as a matter of public safety, in the over all, moves have been made to ban such weapons from civilian sale; not because of what they are so much as it is what they do.

THAT is a reasonable thing to want for our streets. So just because someone thinks that not having those weapons for sale to the public is a good idea, does not mean someone is anti-gun.

Look at little Necro Jr following my example  Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery :peace

You need to put a necro pic in your necro post, though, so that's it's obvious and others don't accuse you of foul play.

Now give it some thought and actually look up the ATF's definitions of "assault rifle" and "assault weapon" before going on as that information will become relevant in the near future :)

The personal attack is always a nice touch when capitulating.

the bolded part is contrary to all known facts. the rest is completely silly

if cops have it for self defense so should the rest of us honest citizens

you apparently ignore that the term assault has nothing to do with "assault and battery"

Sometimes it is just trying to convince a block of wood that cannot and will not think and pointing out that fact. You seem to have an obsession thinking every response to you is a personal attack. Paranoia?
