You see how this has become an emotional issue for you instead of a matter of reason. Apply some logical thought. The fact that gun bans do not work should be sufficient to overcome the fear of a rational person. You lack of rationality is leading you to incorrect political beliefs. Nobody is saying you need to stop being afraid, that is impossible, merely you need to stop letting your senseless fear control your beliefs. You should do this for your own sake.

Well the short answer here is that it is hard to take "logical" concerns that really only come out after a mass shooting.

I would also hazard a guess that like many others, you ignored important and very valid points about how the problem isn't guns, it is people. I am sick and tired of people blaming an object. We the have a legitimate crisis on our hands and people want to point fingers at guns, and not even ones commonly used in crimes to boot.

The crisis is the disconnect in our society. I am a substitute teacher. I work with kids in another job too. These kids start playing M rated video games at 8 or 9. Heck they just play too many games at 8 or 9. I'm not blaming the game though. My finger is aimed at the parents. Cut the thing off. Pay attention to ratings. The point here is to not expose susceptible minds that are growing to such warped contents that one would see in older material ( remember how concrete a kids brain is...how literal things are...how big a deal a rule is just because it is a rule?).

Quite frankly we have a gap in our day and age. On top of that many scarier mental disorders develop after someone is a kid. Around 21 especially for males. We don't have a gun crisis. That is a myth. It isn't the gun culture. I dont want felons with guns. I believe in responsibility and safety. I am sure I am the majority view of gun owners too. The glorification of violence is not "gun culture" it is "thug culture." You ever listen to rap? Biker gangs and breaking bad? Mob bosses? I hate gangsters. I hate the "Godfather." Why? No good guys.

I thought the Right learned their lesson at the Democratic Convention? It is not smart to use Clnton to put down Obama. They work together and are on the same side.

Gun haters concerns being sticking it to conservative gun owners? Don't even try to convince me that the anti gunners think limiting people who should legally own guns to 10 or 7 rounds makes any sense

If they don't trust someone to have a 30 round magazine they don't trust them to own a 20 round magazine or 10 round etc but they cannot come out and say it

Oh, yes, no doubt about that. Obama thought he could get elected and initiate change. I think he's learned a little bit about Washington politics in the past four years, but he was pretty naive in the beginning. Clinton never was.

Still, I think Obama wants to promote the Democratic party. He looks pretty partisan to me, anyway.

Gun advocates around here seem to be fond of posting examples of people defending themselves with guns but I have yet to see any example of anyone defending themselves with 30 rounds.

uh do you think it would get much press? and how many times have cops used that many rounds?
almost never. but then again I have a five million dollar umbrella coverage-how many people hit that limit

what is important is how many LEGAL owners of 30 round magazines ever misuse them

not many
