Proof That Manufacturing Is Not Dead In The US

I'm not buying into neo-Luddism. I just know that automation and increased productivity as a result of automation has largely benefitted those with the capital, not the people providing the labor. I don't have a solution, I just don't think that stopping a few corporations from outsourcing is a magical solution to an overblown problem. These "job saving" media friendly victory stories are meant to portray the always-false narrative being "Trump"eted

You claim not to to be buying into neo-Luddism and then argue from that school of thought.

That's ridiculous. No on on here would do such a thing. If you don't believe me you don't believe me. It's just really incredible partisanship in thinking that there could not possibly be one unhappy Obamacare customer. My wife's job is actually in a call center trying to collect all the money from individuals that Obamacare didn't pay and she gets an earful every single day from numerous people who hate Obamacare. But, you probably don't believe that either. And, no, I don't have proof that my wife does that.

I think a person seriously asking you to post your insurance information to prove you had health insurance is probably the most ridiculous thing I've seen on this board in years.

Although, I have no idea how this topic got around to Obamacare. I will add that the only thing I find wrong with ACA, is it requires insurance companies to use the majority of the premium for the cost of insurance. In the past one way that the insurance companies kept premiums down, they lumped all premiums together in a general fund and invested it using the interest to fund claims. Taking their profit as a percentage off the top. Now they have to use the premiums to actually fund the insurance, which giving the outrageous cost of healthcare. Is going to make the premiums go up.

If you want insurance costs to go down, you can remove the clause concerning the amount used for cost of insurance.

You can address the problem at it's true core. The Hospital Industry and it's lobby dictate the price based on nothing more than whim. Hidden by a convoluted system embedded layers deep in a bureaucracy of unnecessary hospital admins. Is a list of prices that are based on what they think people will pay. People assume a hospital stay will be expensive, so it is.

Insurance Companies in the US are capital creators, investors, or in other words job creators. Hobbling them is the same as hobbling yourselves. Everyone criticizes them, mistrusts them. But they are a business, not a charity. A business that operates on public trust, and reputation. That business is assuming financial risk. They used to offset that financial risk by investing a portion of your premiums in the economy and shaving their profit off its return. Now they have to charge you the actual cost of your risk based on what hospitals charge, not what the care costs. Sure they get to negotiate as a group. But when the hospital is charging 400 times the cost, and you get it knocked by half. You are still overpaying by a great deal.

Blaming Obamacare, or insurance companies, is failing to notice the giant white whale that's swallowed everyone. You can tweak Obamacare and make it better, you can let the insurance companies turn a profit and make it a little better. But til we gut the whale, it's going to eat away at us. And it's not like the doctors are making bank, they are getting payed like waiters in a lot of cases. Hospital admins are making bank. That's about it.
