Perhaps when and indeed IF we in America cease differentiating between Irish Americans, Polish Americans, German Americans, Italian Americans, Cuban Americans, English Americans, Black Americans, Hispanic Americans, Japanese Americans, Chinese Americans as well as all the other nations of the world Americans and simply call ourselves AMERICANS, we might, just might find it possible to treat everyone as a human being.
However until such does occur within the US, affirmative action will continue.
The only thing affirmative action definitely causes is dissent amongst those who are not of the groupings which receive preferential treatment.
While those that are and do, will for ever more complain that not enough is done for them. |

I am offended that you did not mention us Scottish Americans specifically.

No one except the Scottish and Irish would know and only the Irish would care. The Scottish would probably feel good about it.
