As Ron Paul predicted, the Real I.D. is on our door step. It's made to look as if it will protect us from illegal aliens. To help identify those who aren't a legal citizen in this country. And, actually it will.
But thats just the WMD part of it that the fairy will put under your pillow for you to oooo and aaaahhhh over when you wake up and realize it's become a law. And some will even be so glad to carry with them their government issued, tax payer funded form of ID to prove you have been a legal citizen of the USA since you were born. Even though you may look and sound like an American from "Basston" or from "Alibami".

Here's the story I got from congress.org in my email today:

Immigration: Real ID

This week the Senate is expected to hold a hearing on the Real ID program. Under the program, states are required to verify the identity and citizenship of anyone trying to receive identification documents. Forms of identification such as driver's licenses would be affected by the program. Any state not in compliance with Real ID regulations would not have its IDs recognized by the federal government. Residents of these states would be unable to use their IDs to board a plane or enter a federal building.

We are doing it in Missouri. I don't see the issue. I just had to bring in my birth certificate and proof of residence and got my license.
