Is this the first No?

Oh good. You're going to tell us what he really meant.

Half the border is practically impassible. That means that geography has done half the job.

Impassible to who? Fat, myopic, diabetic conservatives or healthy, determined Latino labourers? Nobody who made the trek from Quintano Roo or Guatemala is going to turn back when the going gets tough.
There'll be no wall. There'll be no charges against Clinton. There'll be no task force rounding up illegals and no moratorium on Muslims entering the US. Trump will surround himself with establishment elite and make peace with the Republican powers-that-be. And the Trumpanzees will be left on the outside looking in, their natural role in society.

An exerpt from tonight's 60 Minutes
Asked whether he really plans to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border -- a proposal that served as a centerpiece of his campaign message -- Trump replied, “Yes.”
How is li'l donny gonna pay for the wall? Mexico said they aren't
The Mexican government has publicly reminded him that Mexico will not pay for the wall.
Disgraced and ousted former Speaker of the House (and li'l donny's insider) Newt, the serial adulter, basically said li'l donny lied to the rubes.
And asked about the wall, Trump transition co-chair Newt Gingrich said the wall was “a great campaign device.”

President-elect Trump on immigrants he’ll deport

We shall see..

I bet we see at least some of the more interesting things Trump promised..

He said he was going to start by deporting all of known criminal illegal aliens and the ones on gang lists and whatnot.. Chances are pretty high of that happening..
Who wouldn't want that besides criminals?

And even that will be more show than go, like everything else Donald has done

The executive is held to remove illegal aliens from the country unless Congress legalizes their presence.

Actually, it is Congress that has the power of the purse. Not the president. Trump can talk all he wants to, but if Congress decides not to fund it, it is dead.

Practically impassible.

Can someone scale this defile? Sure. The average person? Most likely, no. However these points on the border are so difficult to traverse that a simple patrol, or an observation post would be plenty. No wall required.

The Border Patrol and ICE are a part of the Executive Branch. The president can deploy them how he chooses, in accordance with the law.

C'mon. Don't waste our time. Those pictures represent, what, a fraction of 1% of the border? You can Google Earth it and see if half of it is impassible.
The wall ain't happening, and it's not because God made the border impassible. It's because Trump needed a bunch of enthusiastic, ignorant people to vote for him but he doesn't need them anymore. The charges against Clinton ain't happening either, and that too isn't because God made her gorge impassible.

I no longer have confidence in Ryans ability to play this game, but if he can and if Trump wants only 4 years as I suspect then Ryan has the chance to go onto coalition with THE DON, pound out good works with THE DON, and then run in 2020 on the platform of continuing the Trump legacy.

i don't see Trump only wanting one term.

People who believe in due process of law?

Oh good. You're going to tell us what he really meant.

Trump's camp is going to be spinning this for a while. Oh, he really meant a metaphorical wall, all along! Honest!

Then it will filter down to the zero-information voters who will convince themselves they knew this the whole time, and never supported a physical border wall. That's stupid! Who would have ever brought up something so dumb! Not me!

I could live with him doing none of the things he said he would and his supporters deciding they never wanted him to anyway.

Not at all. I'm just pointing out his campaign promises will be remarkably easy to fulfill.

So when can we expect charges against Hillary Clinton? Or did he mean something else when he promised that?

You've never been to the Rio Grande Valley. Have you?

Clinton is protected by God, now? You people really are brain washed. :lamo

You said half of the border was impassible. Did you not? Did you mean to represent those pictures as 'half the border'?
And if you didn't get the joke in my Clinton reference, they must have surgically removed your sense of humour when you joined the Tea Party. Here's a hint- when I said her gorge was impassible I wasn't expressing admiration for her.

His campaign promises are remarkably easy to fulfill.

Sure, if you go with that Evil Genie method where you deliberately misinterpret things in order to deliver the letter of the promise but not the spirit.

*hires one more border patrol agent*
It's a metaphorical wall!

*sits down with one democrat and one republican*
I'm uniting the people!

*bans known ISIS members from entering the United States*
See! I banned "Muslims" from immigrating!

I'll give him one: he promised to leave Social Security as it is. Congratulations on being able to deliver on a promise of not doing something

Deportation of illegal aliens is due process of the law.

Sure, if you prove it all in court, go ahead. That's what ICE does already, though.

Finally!

Seriously people, Hilary Clinton is NOT going to jail, there will NEVER be a wall, and there will never be a ban on Muslims entering the country.

Agreed. So why are many people on the left freaking out? I mean --- no more birth control! No more abortions! Gays back in the closet! Hysteria.

This is bound to happen. The American people have spoken, and they want change. Not destroying the country by giving the people a chance to rebuild might just be the change conservatives are looking for.

I'm hopeful that Trump won't go overboard. For example, he spoke with Obama about healthcare and doubled down on his position that a pre-existing condition is not grounds to deny someone healthcare. Correct me if I'm wrong, but he's not making many concessions with healthcare. I don't agree with his plan, but I haven't looked into it in detail. I say give him a chance when it comes to healthcare, but on immigration, he's too far right.

Agreed. So why are many people on the left freaking out? I mean --- no more birth control! No more abortions! Gays back in the closet! Hysteria.

People on the left are freaking out because they worked hard on a plan that didn't work. Eventually, they'll accept that and find a way to improve it. Like working toward actual equality of the sexes instead of calling men wimps for not enduring the side effects of hormonal birth control. The left stopped making progress a long time ago, unless you count marriage equality as "progress" instead of a formalization of a widely accepted reality.

I read something today about LGBT rights under a Trump administration, and based on what I've seen in Trump's speeches, I don't think marriage equality is going anywhere. So gays aren't going back in the closet. Trans people, on the other hand, might be at risk for some kind of social rejection of their identities.

But if we're really going to complain about birth control being taken away (I'm not aware of any reason to believe this is more than speculation by the left), then we should ask ourselves what good feminism has done for the left. Is this about more shaming of the right for not accepting liberal ideas, or can we come to some kind of an agreement? Because if all you have left on the table is "you're a bad person if you don't agree with me," then your options will be severely limited.

You know how right wingers freak out constantly about gun control?

Same reason.
