Seems Michelle Obama is putting on some weight......

"but Good Reverend, this is a non topic, you are just attacking the 1st lady"

No, actually the point is, she's heading up a national fight against obesity, and while she is clearly not obese, I think putting on pounds sends a mixed signal.

It would be like if Nancy Reagan did a "just say no" commercial with a weed t-shirt on.... ;)

I honestly haven't noticed that she's gained a pound. She wasn't the skinniest person in the world when he was elected and she still isn't. Then again i don't worry about meaningless **** like this crap.

If you're going to start a stupid attack thread at least own up to it. You look like a coward when you start it and then say that you're not attacking her you're just pointing out that she's gaining weight while telling people to be healthy while neglecting to even post any proof that she's gained weight. One of the dumbest threads I've seen in a while.

It's ironic when you call me a coward from the internet.

It's not an attack, its a point, if you are going to run a campaign against obesity, it is ill advised to gain weight.

She is clearly not obese, she is also clearly getting to the age where not putting on weight is difficult, and sorry Rev, but this is another example along with the "Obama is not a citizen", "Obama bowed", "Obama uses a teleprompter", "Michelle Obama owns expensive shoes" type of thing that is really retarded to even try and make an issue out of.

You're unhinged.

Stop trying to divert our attention from that Snickers bar you just ate.

Lets look at her super bowl party menu:

The menu, released by the White House:

*Bratwurst

*Kielbasa

*Cheeseburgers
*Deep Dish Pizza

*Buffalo Wings

*German Potato Salad
*Twice Baked Potatoes
*Snyders Potato Chips and Pretzels

*Chips and Dips

*Salad

*Ice Cream
*Beers paid tribute to the states of the Super Bowl teams: Wisconsin's Hinterland Pale Ale & Amber Ale, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania's Yuengling Lager and Light.
*White House Honey Ale.

Again, if you are going to promote a healthy lifestyle, perhaps you should have something healthy on your party menu... I mean the only thing that really isn't proccessed crap is the salad (which I am sure was drenched in proccessed dressing)..

Heck, the healthiest thing on that menu was the beer.

No, she is not obese, and you do have a point here I haven't considered.

It's not the biggest of issues, jus something to discuss... I think we can do that without being hysterical on either side here.

You forgot to list the 55 gallon drum of Costco ice cream. :lamo

Liberal feel that attacking you is more productive.

This of it not as Nancy Reagan wearing a pot shirt, but think of it as an anti-alcoholism campaigner who has a beer each day after work.

I'm a food nut and I ate garbage all day on Super Bowl Sunday. No one is saying you have to eat healthy all the time. But eating garbage constantly is what's turning our kids into massive tubs of goo.

Really, have you been to a school lately? Half the kids look like Violet from Willie Wonka post-expansion (they might be a little less blue; but catch 'em after gym class and they're probably that color, too).

Carrying a few pounds on the hips isn't going to kill anyone. Being 20-30 pounds over your optimal weight is actually perfectly fine, but kids are getting ****ing huge these days and ****ty parents are doing it.

The first lady is recommending to restaurants that they start serving smaller portions and do away with all you can eat menues.
Is it possible she needs to do this to keep her own weight down? Maybe she doesn't know how to push herself away from the table when food is still there. Perhaps she should work on her own willpower and stay out of the diets of others.
My opinion is, it's not her business what size portions a restaurant serves. Is she going to pull money out of her own pocket when they start losing customers if they follow her advice? People like to feel like they are getting their moneys worth when they go out to eat. Also, hasn't she ever heard of a doggie bag?

I think she would better server her cause if she had some healthy food on that menu.

It's a sad state, I am aware, this is why, I think she should take her campaign more seriously.....

I am all for her campaign, I think its a great one. which is why I am critisizing these missteps...

this is all well and true, which is why, she should be careful about this stufff.

Mo'bama has always had a ferrari chest and a dump truck ass. I dont know that she is gaining all that much...maybe just some bad photography angles...

It's a point that only right wing morons on talk radio are talking about. Rush Limbaugh starts talking about how fat she's getting and people follow suit. Where is she gaining weight? Maybe I'm just not seeing it. Either way, it's stupid to talk about. Also, saying that her having unhealthy foods at a superbowl party goes against her message is only correct if her message is "Eat healthy and never ever eat anything unhealthy. Period." Find me where she said that and you'll prove your point. Other than that your just spewing garbage.

actually, I got it from media matters.

Why is it stupid to talk about healthy eating and lifestyle, in regards to a persons campaign to do so? I am all for her campaign, do I have to be a left winger in order to point out the small issues I see with it?

Considering her age she's in excellent shape. So what if she pigged out at the Superbowl? Isn't that what most people do that night? So, because she's spearheading the campaign against obesity in America, she's not allowed to let her hair down once in a while? I consider myself pretty healthy but that doesn't mean I won't enjoy sweets in moderation, or even fast food on occasion.

This forum thread is tabloidesque in its proportions. Don't you have anything better to do, Reverend_Hellhound? Attacking our first lady with such libel is sad and pathetic.

I think someone who struggles to keep her weight down (Michelle has mentioned in the past how discouraging it is that people think she's fat, considering how hard she works out) is way more qualified to lead an anti-obesity campaign than some size 0 model who's been underweight all her life. My guess is that she doesn't have time to work out as much these days and at her age it'll have an immediate impact.

this I agree with. skinny people are usually in no better shape than obese people....

I don't give a **** if she eats a pound of chocolate and a large pizza every day. I don't care if she weighs a hundred pounds or 300 pounds.

I do care that she has nerve to try and tell people what to eat and to tell restaurants what they should serve. It's expensive enough to go out to eat as it is. Now she wants to cut down on portion sizes? I happen to like large portions and the larger the better. I often can get a carry out box and get another meal out of it.
Educating people is one thing. Trying to pick my pocket, and nudge me into eating the way she wants me to, is a different story. Some things are just none of her damn business.
I hope the restaurants she targets, tells her to stick it where the sun don't shine.
Oh yea, and who is paying for her team of advisers?
First Lady Michelle Obama pushes for smaller portions in restaurants | syracuse.com
According to a New York Times report on Sunday, Mrs. Obama has a team of advisers in talks with the National Restaurant Association in an effort to get eateries to serve smaller portions and healthier children's meals.
But some argue Mrs. Obama's methodology is too heavy-handed.
Brad Blakeman, former deputy assistant for George W. Bush, said in an interview on Fox News it should not be up to the government to decide what we eat.
"Education is important in good health for our people and we should do that but we shouldn’t do it with the heavy-handed approach the First Lady is doing where she’s influencing our economy by telling the restaurant association what she would like to see done," said Blakeman.

You're right. Asking someone to do something is the same thing as jack-booted thugs forcing carrots down your throat.

Careful, they'll shoot you if your piece of meat is bigger than a deck of cards!
