Are We There Yet?

“When the people fear their government, there is tyranny, when the government fears the people, there is liberty.” Truer words are seldom spoken but these are often overlooked.

Thomas Jefferson wrote this profound statement as a warning to future generations not to ever let the Government that he was helping to create ever get to the point the founding father found them in when it became necessary to throw off the Kings Government, and to provide new a new structure under which the people could pursue freedom and happiness.

The new system would insure that instead of a King/Dictator handing down edicts they would create the new rules in such a way that the power would remain with the People and the Government would derive its powers from the consent of the People.

We are now at a crossroad where anyone who pays any attention to what is going on will see that the “Will of the People” is being ignored in direct conflict with the express precepts on which this Nation was founded and many fought and died to maintain.

Republicans allowed the Bush Administration to run roughshod over the Constitution and place many of our rights at risk while trampling over others to the point where even an Obama looked like a reasonable replacement at the time.

Bush’s mistakes should have taught us that Benjamin Franklin’s words in this eloquent statement should be heeded: “Those who would sacrifice Essential Liberty for a little Security deserve neither Security nor Liberty.” Franklin believed the opposite of Safety was not Danger but Personal Responsibility. One thing very much in short supply today in many people.

“Are We There Yet,” is not only a question about whether or not we realize our current situation and how close I believe we truly are to tyranny as the Congress continues to ignore We The People, but are we ready to do what is necessary to throw off, or as I see it throw out those in Government that believe Socialism/Marxism is some kind of solution. History is replete with examples of Socialism/Marxisms, utter failures and the destruction those examples show are inevitable at the end of that path. We have litle time to dilly dally.

I close with two quotes. The first credited to and Italian philosopher in the late 1960s, and I paraphrase: “Those who fail to learn from the past are doomed to repeat it.”

In closing I ask that you seriously think about the meaning of this one I believe truly fits today is from: Albert Einstein, Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Are You There Yet? I am.

Re: Are We There Yet?

I am armed and ready, but I truly believe this will not be necessary, a revolutuon would set us back decades. That said, if need be, I will fight to the death for freedom, I would not think twice about it. My hope is that americans will set aside their petty differences, ignore the two parties that try to control us through division and strife, and take back this country, if not for today, for the next generation.

We have become slaves, well fed, well equiped, thanks to our second amendment rights, but slaves all the same. I do not believe our government fears us, I think they pity us, and that is even worse then disrespect, I for one am very angry!

I could go on and on..........

I was talking about at the voting booth and your only weapon is your vote. An armed revolution is not necessary to reverse what has taken place at this at this point.

Nietzsche on insanity:

this is 100% true. we can only judge our own sanity by reference to others. however when everybody is drifting towards insanity uniformly together it seems like we're standing still.

and these questions are never ever asked when studying history. nobody asks how do these nations go insane. how did Germany go insane ?

instead they teach you how Hitler supposedly didn't like Jews and how Germans followed him because they were stupid.

well let's see - few nations produced as many intelligent people as Germany and Austria have. Germany is the number 1 exporter in the world today. How stupid could germans really be ? stupider than Americans ? NOT A CHANCE.

Why isn't the question asked ? Why aren't we taught in schools how Germans were brainwashed into following Hitler ?

the reason is VERY SIMPLE. because WE ARE BEING BRAINWASHED WITH EXACTLY THE SAME TECHNiQUES AT THIS VERY MOMENT AND THEY CAN'T TELL US ABOUT IT.

Re: Are We There Yet?

Which is it Councilman Marxism or Socialism? My understanding of Marxism is that the number one tenant of it is that it has no central authority, IE, no government allocating resources.

In addition to communal property. If you seen something in a neighbors yard, or house, just help yourself, after all its as much yours as his. Somehow all of these good folk, when something needed done, they would turn too and gitter done. Thus this little homely ("From each according to his abilities; to each according to his need.")

Over the years there have been several failed attempts at pure Marxism, they usually drift into creating a socialist government with a Central Government that controls/ owns everything and directs the allocation of all resources. The kink in this system, as the USSR found out is …well, human nature got/gets in the way. The authorities start thinking that they know what’s best for everyone (power trips)

Then of course you have the lazy a***s,not that the socialist have a monopoly on them but in socialism there seems to be the “why bother” mentality.

So Councilman which of these do you see on the horizon?

He who knows best knows how little he knows.
