Let's have an HONEST discussion on anarchy
I have done a little research, and have recently awakened and found that MANY of the principles that would "order" an anarchic society are basically freedoms that I value.
I woke up and got out of bed this morning, because I felt like it. I ate toast with strawberry jam, because I was hungry first and foremost and that was what appealed to me at that point in time. The food I eat is basically the food I CHOOSE to eat. I get out and walk around, because that is what I like doing. There are currently no laws on when/where/how I can sleep, when I need to wake up, when I should start eating, what and how much to eat, and thankfully I can leave the house whenever I feel like it. Whatever job you have, was a job that YOU applied for. The job was there only because the employer saw a need for some assistance. There is no law requiring a business to exist, but they exist anyway. They only exist because they can provide some kind of product or service that there is a market demand for. In modern times laws have been put in place that limit what can be produced, sold, and bought. This has ultimately put some barriers to moneymaking opportunities and has also limited customer choice. I want some non-homogenized and non-pasteurized cow milk as well as some other people, but that is not legal to sell or buy. I don't live next to any cows at this time that I can milk and get the natural stuff for myself. Cannabis can be used to make clothes, rope, a automobile body (search Ford hemp car), diesel fuel, concrete, and the seeds of hemp can be eaten and the oil is medicinal. Somebody in the government decided that no one should be allowed to grow it or have it and anyone who breaks that law, will be put in jail and if they fight the police then the police are allowed to to used any force necessary to subdue the criminal (even if it would lead to somebody getting killed). The "state" taxes people (through coercion), and they pretty much have a free supply of income without having to do a good job. They can use a mass of money to make a police or military force to subdue people in any manner they wish and for whatever goal they have. A dozen people in the 20th century used the power of the state to oppress people at best and murder hundreds of millions of people at worst. So, what are your thoughts on anarchy? |

Here's my reasoning: 99% of the people who I've heard seriously advocate for anarchy were between 13 and 19. Generally, they grow out of it around then. It's like being emo or liking the Jonas Brothers - do I really have to explain why it's limited to kids? |

Re: Let's have an HONEST discussion on anarchy
You really aren't describing Anarchy, you're describing a free society ordered by custom and morality.
In true anarchy, you'd not need a job per se, you's simply take what you wanted from the weaker. |

Re: Let's have an HONEST discussion on anarchy
I would prefer to have anarchy once I've established myself with a fortress located at a vital trade route - with large amounts of weapons. Not before.
Also, I'm a little concerned about property rights; what happens if there's a criminal who doesn't respect them as much as we'd hope? |
