Kellyanne Conway cites ‘Bowling Green massacre’ that never happened to defend travel ban

Kellyanne Conway has taken “alternative facts” to a new level.

During a Thursday interview with MSNBC’s Chris Matthews, the counselor to the president defended President Trump’s travel ban related to seven majority-Muslim countries. At one point, Conway made a reference to two Iraqi refugees whom she described as the masterminds behind “the Bowling Green massacre.”

“Most people don’t know that because it didn’t get covered,” Conway said.

The Bowling Green massacre didn’t get covered because it didn’t happen. There has never been a terrorist attack in Bowling Green, Ky., carried out by Iraqi refugees or anyone else.

I propose that we all raise a glass in honor of the all the innocent people (and cows) that lost their lives in this horrific massacre, and for the heroic efforts of Nancy Grace in helping to stop these Iraqi terrorists from taking any more innocent lives (and cows).

It's a shame that the librul MSM didn't report on this.

The Bowling Green incident that led to Obama banning all Iraqis from the US?

I fully expect politicians to spin. I understand politicians will use doublespeak. But the amount of blatant lying which has already occurred in the last couple of weeks is just staggering. This isn't spin or doublespeak, these are provably false statements about things which have already happened (or, in this case, hasn't happened). It's just bewildering how people can simply ignore it.

It was obviously a massacre as Obama banned all Iraqis after it occurred.

Will you kindly stop with these moronic posts? Obama never issued an Iraqi ban. Just because Kellyanne Conway, who I have a lot of respect for, is too clueless to know that there was no massacre in Bowling Green doesn't mean you should double down on her stupidity.

I'm really disappointed in her for this. She's much smarter than this and shouldn't have made this kind of mistake.

Except he didn't:

2. Not a ban. Contrary to Trump’s Sunday statement and the repeated claims of his defenders, the Obama administration did not “ban visas for refugees from Iraq for six months.” For one thing, refugees don’t travel on visas. More importantly, while the flow of Iraqi refugees slowed significantly during the Obama administration’s review, refugees continued to be admitted to the United States during that time, and there was not a single month in which no Iraqis arrived here. In other words, while there were delays in processing, there was no outright ban.
Sorry, Mr. President: The Obama Administration Did Nothing Similar to Your Immigration Ban | Foreign Policy

WHAT'S FALSE: Neither President Obama nor the State Department banned or stopped those applications entirely; the slowdown affected a single type of visa from a single country (and not all entry from several countries); the slowdown occurred in order to implement enhanced screening procedures, which remained in place in January 2017.

Will you please stop making so much sense, my like button finger is getting worn out. :)

Re: Kellyanne Conway cites ‘Bowling Green massacre’ that never happened

Trump and Bannon and crew know if they keep lying, and keep attacking the media, and make the lies more and more outrageous that eventually they will minimize or even silence the media. The 'big lie(s)', works and they know it.

Trump blatantly lied constantly about Obama's birth certificate and 30% of the Republican base believed him. Trump and Bannon saw that, so they are just continuing on with the same tactic.

There's an old saying, "The bigger the lie, the more people will believe it".

Re: Kellyanne Conway cites ‘Bowling Green massacre’ that never happened

Not one single part of that ^ is true.

Can you explain the Iraqi ban after the Bowling Green incident?

Re: Kellyanne Conway cites ‘Bowling Green massacre’ that never happened

Are you sure? It was a six month ban in 2011 because of an incident in Bowling Green.
I literally quoted you two sources which said you are wrong. Yes, I'm sure. Those sources referred to the actions of the Obama Administration after Bowling Green. And the "incident" as you called it never happened, it was snuffed out first, so when Conway calls it a "massacre", she's blatantly lying.

So she's lying and you're wrong.

It wasn't a ban, I already posted sources which explained it to you. Do the honest thing and read them.

No it wasn't. Please check your facts and come back when you're educated on history.

Something tells me she didn't open the sources you provided her. We could probably spend all day providing her with sources, but I'm going to guess that she prefers to post falsehoods because reality and truth doesn't fit into the spreading of lies.

Re: Kellyanne Conway cites ‘Bowling Green massacre’ that never happened

There was no ban.

In 2011 there was a six month ban.

No it wasn't.

So when he banned them for six months he didn't actually ban them for six months? Or.....

I though you were joking when you linked foreignpolicy.com and snopes as "sources."

The incident that caused Obama to ban Iraqis in Bowling Green did not occur?

I'm sorry, I didn't know she was a Trump supporter. ;)

Re: Kellyanne Conway cites ‘Bowling Green massacre’ that never happened

Don't hold your breath.

I'd say I was embarrassed for her for making such stupid posts on here, but something tells me these posts are trolling.

There's an old saying, "The bigger the lie, the more people will believe it".

Yep, Tell a lie that big enough, repeat it over and over, and some will believe it. 'The big lie'. It's been proven to work throughout history.

Trump proved it worked with his birther lies. We have a lot of people in the country who will believe the lies because of politics, a lot will believe it because they are uninformed, and some are probably just plain paid to spread the lies and BS.
