What are the protesters demands? Why are they protesting?

I don't think too many people in the administration were absolutely shocked and surprised! :mrgreen: They would have been better off if they had waited a week or two....now they'll probably just get ignored along with everyone else who think they've made some kind of point that someone will listen to. They're ignoring the fact that Trump is not a politician, which is a mistake, IMO. He seems to be concentrating on keeping his word on jobs for all who want to work, plus treaty negotiations on NAFTA, and not on other issues at this time, and I'm fairly certain he probably believes those women who were marching probably didn't vote for him in the first place! :2razz: Time will tell....

I wish they were just ignored.

There's just something disturbing putting small kids up to carrying a sign around with 4 letter words, it makes me question their parenting ability and judgement.

Once again there's a parade of Celebutards from Hollyweird who live and work in the land of make believe with only a very tenuous grip on reality, spouting off, more often that not, with the foulest of language suitable only for military and ex-military, and on this occasion one in particular who didn't make any sense in the least.

All that foul language and the little kids in attendance. Where's all the concern for the well being of the kids? Or is that only when politically convenient for them?

Words matter. This rhetoric by an American president has been unprecedented since WWII. This is the rhetoric of someone with a worldview and mindset that has nothing to do with the worldview that built the postwar world to date. It's the worldview of a real estate guy, not a leader with vision.

Eric, I consider myself fortunate that I had parents who understood right from wrong, and was never placed in a situation like these children are being exposed to. We can only hope they are too young to truly understand what's going on, and just consider it a big parade mom took them to. Do these women think Hillary would have ever exposed Chelsea to this type of behavior, or how about Michelle with her children? Just a question I wondered about....

My girls certainly got the difference between right and wrong in their upbringing. Being an immigrant's son there's a strong work ethic that ran from my parents, to me, and to our kids as well. They are both doing well in college, A's & B's, one while also holding down a full time job.

Sure, life knocks them down on occasion, but they have the wherewithal to pick themselves back up and keep going. I think they are going to be OK.

I wonder if it would be helpful to list some of the things that women in the 'West'were not demonstrating against:

Female Genital Mutilation, 'Honour' killings, a legal system which makes women inferior to men, the condemnation and punishment of women for 'adultery' if they are raped, the hanging of 13 year old girls accused of 'blasphemy', the public flogging of women seen talking to a man.

The list is not exhaustive.

Why were the women of the left protesting a president who has only been in office for four days and has not done anything to harm women yet I've never seen a world wide protest against the things you've mentioned?

You ask a question of the greatest importance to millions of women. Not only to those where Islam rules but to some in the UK , where there over 50 sharia courts.

I have never seen a serious attempt to answer this question. It is either ignored or simply brushed aside with vague words about 'respecting other cultures and religions'.

Add to it the kidnapping of hundreds of little girls and the selling into sexual slavery of thousands of women who are beaten, kept doped up so that they can withstand the beatings, and then passed along as the chattel they are to the next "owner."

Great post! :thumbs: I wonder if those women taking part in the demonstrations are also in the group that allows their children to disrupt other diners in a restaurant by just being bratty kids, and doing nothing to correct their behavior? Where does that "entitlement" attitude come from that they think themselves superior to other people?

We ran into that a week ago when we took some visitors out to dinner, and when the owner asked that the children be seated instead of running around the restaurant, the women left in a huff, acting all insulted like! The other diners smiled, a few clapped, and most gave the owner a "thumbs up," but it's sad that it was necessary for the owner to have to intervene in the first place, IMO! What has happened to our society to cause this? Aren't good manners being taught to children these days? :shock:

Bill Clinton wasn't out to shut down Planned Parenthood, disempower women, and didn't sound like a chauvinist pig and low-class foulmouthed bully. Any woman who can hear some old geezer yelling at a woman that she "bleeds out of wherever" on national TV and not having some sense of complete outrage and offense at that obviously completely lacks any self-esteem or sense of self-worth as a woman. But words still matter to many women, apparently.

That may be the reason you're not understanding why so many women are outraged.

If I hear that a government is not competent enough to provide clean water for its citizens in a foreign nation, I would be outraged. But I am not going to get out and protest it on the street. If it's happening in my own country, however, I would. You?

Sure. And Putin is still president too. What of it? Doesn't make it right. It's OK to protest something you find outrageous, even if it doesn't change anything- at least in the immediate term. At the very least, it may force them to pull in their horns a little bit and watch what they are doing a little more carefully.
