Another Big Tantrum

I'm guessing you live in a bubble. Well one of us does. I, for one, remember 8 years worth of calling obama the anti christ and secret muslim and not a real american and a traitor, and the worst president in history, and heart felt vows to oppose everything he tried to do regardless of what it actually was, and that he was going to take the guns and impose sharia law and create fema concentration camps and death panels.... And of course that is on top of a **** load of protests and marches and rallies with people hanging him in effigy and calling him nigger and telling him to go back to africa and calling him a chimp president and his wife a gorilla and a tranny.....

You didn't see much of that? I sure did. I mean I guess if you kept your eyes down and tried not to see it you might have missed it, but if you were looking around at all you cannot have failed to notice...People have called Trump a bully and a dick and a braggart and a woeful unqualified demagogue.....but all of those things are true....

look at the post directly above this one from Captain America. If your memory is that bad it might jog it a little.
Lol sure bud.. bad characters on both sides.. the same level hardly... in fact not even close.. you read to much Huffington post and the like. Cheers

Well, Bush Jr did lose the popular vote to Gore. Trump did lose the popular vote to Hillary. Bill won by a wide and indisputable margin. Obama won by a wide and indisputable margin.

Here...

This will make the snowflakes feel better. Thank goodness our constitution, and our electoral system, is based on a Democratic Republic.

I don't understand what you are getting at here......

Is there some connection between snowflakes and a preference for popular elections? I have never heard this connection before..... I mean snowflakes is an insult often thrown at people who think each person is an individual who has their unique value and life experience and idea of happiness....which is a really weird thing to insult people over....but if that is what you mean by "snowflake" I did not know that preferring the results of a popular election made someone a snowflake. I have heard many many many conservatives over the past decade or more talk about the outdated electoral system and how a popular vote would be better. Are you telling me that if Hillary won the electoral but lost the popular that we wouldn't be seeing a ton of conservatives griping about the electoral system? Would that have made them snowflakes?

Liking or disliking the electoral college is not usually a partisan issue, it only seems like it right now because Trump just won the electoral while losing the popular at a historically unprecedented level. When historically unprecedented things happen that is usually the time to stop and reflect on how it occurred and if it should be allowed to continue or not. This is not abnormal, this is a normal reaction to something so unprecedented. What would be weird and abnormal is if such an event DID NOT cause controversy.

The thing is that one of us clearly is out of touch with the way things really are. The question is, how do you know it's not you?

Good question, since we both think the same as the other I guess we will have to pick something to take a look at. Hmm let's see, college campus's. After Obama was elected ( twice) how many students required, safe spaces, shout outs, comfort puppies, play dough, etc... how may after Trump? Do you think those things were required? Now tell me again who is out of touch?? No rush, you can get back to me when your done feeding your pet unicorn. Cheers.

Yes...and yes. Sorry about the confusion. "Snowflakes," as in liberals and progressives that are so fragile that they need hot coco and a warm puppy to console them over the fact that they didn't get their way in the election. Now they want to change the rules, protest, or leave the country (just an empty threat BTW).

Maybe this will help:
Tomi Lahren Explains Why You Might Be A Snowflake (Video)

I thought this was a well (re)defined term by now.

Yet it is the Trumpers on here that are getting their panties in a bunch (sorry Maggie) because some want to exercise their right of assembly. They need to man up if they are going to survive the next 4 years. If Trump is really as big a liar as it is starting to seem there will be many marches on Washington and Trump can bring out his rocket launchers and tanks then. Since you never know what Trump will do from minute to minute I will still hold out a shred of hope the he doesn't want to be the most hated President in history. But we will see.

Hmm maybe I missed it. I have no problem with peaceful protest. I have a problem with non peaceful protest, do you have a problem with that??? As I said, show me here or anywhere where people are against peaceful protest. ( apply some common sense and don't come up with some one off nut job group that represents a whole lot of nobody. We both can do that as you well know)

Right wingers aren't "against peaceful protest." They just flip their **** whenever someone dares question Saint Trump. It's just so unfair that the media isn't being nice to a guy who is a professional asshole! WAAAHHHHHH

Direct observation of his many years of public communication.

Some are going to protest Trump. Fine.

Some have protested Obama. Also fine.

The protesters that riot, i.e. smash windows, torch buildings, assaulting others, and any number of other criminal activity, they need to be arrested, detained, and charged.

If you look back, I don't think there were any, or many, instances of criminal activity during the Obama protests.
Seems that criminal activity only follows around the protests of a particular political spectrum.

In fact, typical Tea Party protests, if I recall, left the grounds of the protests cleaner than when they arrived, trash being put into the proper receptacles. Not so with other protests.

For most of my adult lifetime each election has had 2 possible outcomes: A Democrat wins or a Republican wins who the Democrats think is illegitimate.

this is one of the least honest posts on this forum ever. after the right wing birther crap you have the gall to post this?

How many Govt. employees are set to be laid off as part of the trillion$ slashing of Govt. programs? More jobs than Trump has "saved" you can be sure. Stop tooting a non-existant horn, the sound is unsatisfying.

Have you ever heard the word 'attrition'? Do you realize how many people in the government retire on a regular basis?

O so you don't know him personally?? Ever listen to those that do know him personally? They make it pretty clear there is a media side of Trump and the working/ personal side. Every hear what the media said about hillary. Pretty glowing in most cases (msm) ever here what the insiders said about hillary and working with her? Not pleasant. In fact nasty bitch seemed to be the common thread. What part of Hillary do you believe.

Agreed. So what did anyone trust that used car salesman Obama?
I think he's set the record for the number of times he bald faced lied to the entire nation.

Keep your doctor. Keep your plan. Save money. Ring a bell? His entire term in office was filled with nothing but.

Why do so many of you people keep insisting that, just because Obama lied, it's perfectly okay for Trump to do whatever the hell he wants?

This is great!! I have not seen the Democrats so pissed off since the Republicans took away their slaves........

You just admitted he has a "media side" and that's exactly the side I'm talking about. Don't blame it on the media, he's the one who created it. He cultivates it. It's all part of his brand.

Don't get in a tizzy when someone calls an asshole an asshole.

Not saying that at all. What I'm drawing attention to is that some, during the Obama term, believed every lie he told and defended every lie he told.
Now, they attack Trump on even the slightest transgression.

The way this stacks up, they are making themselves look like little more than political hacks.

There are legitimate concerns and criticisms with any political figure. They are neither right nor left, they are just that, legitimate concerns and criticisms.
Much of the fake news and smears that are being throw Trump's way, are exactly that, and are not legitimate concerns and criticisms.

There was no 'Hitlerism' nor any 'Nazisim', nor any antisemitism in Trump's inaugural speech. That's just so much bull****, so much verbal diarrhea, which should only serve to discredit the news media that reported it as a source of fake news, and this should reflect on the entire network that reported such.

Do please note that I maintain that there are legitimate concerns and criticisms, and the honest and factual reporting of such should be credited to the networks that report them in that fashion.

Applying this measure CNN, CBS, ABC, and BuzzFeed have discredited themselves through their own actions, so self inflicted relegation to fake news sources. Fine. So be it. If you traffic in ****, you are bound to get a stink on you.

I know. It isn't like lots of Republicans, including Trump, claimed Obama wasn't a natural born citizen and hence an illegitimate President. ...

.

They did and it was a crummy and disrespectful way to treat president Obama. However I don't remember seeing thousands of protesters in the streets chanting "not a citizen, not my president."
The amount of knuckleheads who treated president Obama in a disrespectful way is no where near the amount of intolerant jerks treating Trump disrespectfully. There were a lot, way too many in fact, people on the left who thought that president Obama should have declared martial law to prevent Trump from becoming president.

Not that fringe. As recently as this summer less than 30% of Republicans believed Obama was born in the US. And among that "fringe group" included the current President of the United States. Why does everyone seem ok with grading Trump on a curve?

Because of politics, of course. Did you really have to ask that?
