I told you that the Russians are no more likely to start a nuclear war than they ever were and if we were scared that they would we would have surrendered to them years ago. Is that what you want? The Russians have nothing we want and if we don't use our clout to stop their aggression who will?

Are you trying to be obtuse? The Obama Doctrine, embraced by Hillary, has put us on a path to increased aggression from Russia. There is no reason for that. I wrote that a different approach is called for. How is it you are missing that from my words? How do you keep posting that I'm afraid, or I want war? It's impossible to derive that from what I have posted.

The only thing Russia has is energy. So what would you suggest be done to stop their actions? What clout would you apply? Back them in a corner? Threaten their existence?

Trump is on the right track IMO. I ignore the silly rantings of the left about Putin and Trump as buds. That message may excite the minions who such dog whistles are designed to attract, but in the rational world, there are more important and effective ways to get Nations back on a more rational line of thinking.

Rather than waste time on all this bluster and blunder, there are many things all Nations want to accomplish, and moving people that direction makes sense to me.

Good post. It is actually hilarious that when Obama took office he wanted to be friends with our enemies, including Russia and now the left blasts Trump for wanting to be friends with Russia. The only country Obama has actually been tough on is Israel.

The fact is that trump gave these people life. Will he be able to get these plants and mines back open? who knows.
depends on how he deals with the EPA and can get people to start investing and reopening.

I think it is going to be a hard thing. what Hillary lost is that she doesn't appeal to the blue collar worker.
the same people that rolled out for Reagan rolled out for trump.

the blue dog democrats. their party has left them behind and in the dust. all to pander to other people.
Hillary lacked vision except more regulations, more taxes and they will pay for it.

people want to work and provide without the government getting in their businesses and telling them what to do

I don't disagree. However, my point is that there was not some massive outcry in American society for Trump. As I said he won with a lower percentage of the vote than Romney lost with.

The percentage he won by was clear and decisive.

Only 2-3 cities were a factor in Hillary getting the popular vote, so big deal.

How many red states did Hillary win?

How many blue states did Trump win?

If the left was doing such a great job, Trump would have been just another blowhard falling by the wayside.

The main point should have been that voting for Trump isn't going to help these people in the least. And the way it's looking right now, a whole bunch of them are going to lose their healthcare, too. Republicans have no plan to help anybody, and they never had a plan. They have spent so much time blocking the Democrats from getting anything done that they forgot how to govern.

So a populist right-winger rousted enough idiots to barely get himself elected - great, he proved that this country has a lot of idiots that vote. So far, he's been a disaster, and he hasn't even taken office yet. But he's a big hit on Twitter.

It isn't just liberals. Both parties left these people behind. Trump won these people over because of Trump. They weren't lured by the Republican message or particularly disgusted by the Democratic one. It was all Trump when we talk about these types of voters.

Only partisans on both sides could disagree with that assessment. Think how great things would have been though if Trump could have relayed that same message without all of his other shortcomings. But, I suppose if he had done that he would not have been able to run under the umbrella of either party and independents or third parties can't win. This election proved that.

I can't believe you even said that but it is an absolutely perfect example of why Hillary lost - calling unemployed ex blue collar workers that were registered Democrats stupid people because they wanted a job (not $15 from McDonalds or Walmart) and not a government handout. Maybe the Russians had something on these people (maybe they liked golden showers) and blackmailed them into voting for Trump.

Not delivering is exactly what leftists have been doing over the last few years to cause them to lose 1200+ seats in local, state, and federal offices.

The OP's link is essentially correct. Trump gained by appealing to what is still a large segment of voters that Hillary and the Dems ignored... when they weren't openly ridiculing them. Whether or not Trump can or will deliver is not the premise of the thread. That comes later.
