Politicians you like that aren't from your party.

Yeah, I hate the feeling that I have no representation for what I believe in without bringing in aspects that I detest.

Although Christian, I couldn't get behind the Republicans when they were the party of the "Religious Right", I didn't like the idea of using religion to force government control (example: LBGT rights, censorship of violent movies/games etc)

Democrats I oppose mostly on policy, but also because I don't like their dishonesty and tactics (example: Lies and manipulating low information voters on Gun Control).

I was glad to see Republicans move away from the "Religious Right" but instead of a party that represents Conservative values and liberty they represent just about everything wrong with this government (crony-capitalism, partisan pissing contests like Obama's SC pick)

I had hoped with Trump/Hillary we would have seen more push to a rising 3rd party that could bust up this 2 party system that has largely been a cancer to this country but it only confirmed we will be stuck with it in my opinion.

I still think that is going to happen or maybe it's just hope.

Newsome is one of those pols that make me not want to change my sig.
Quintessential smug amoral partisan political hack.
The GOP would have to run a horrific gubernatorial candidate---pedophile, ax-murderer---before I'd vote for this putz.

Geeez, really? tell me more. Being from PA I only ever see the dude on political talk shows or large political events and I don't pick that up at all. Maybe on a local level he would come off that creepy.

I'd be curious to know which politicians you like who you supposedly side with.

***crickets***

???? I'm sorry was I not moving fast enough for you or giving you the attention you want? Maybe you noticed I was in other threads and answering the posts in this thread to me that were before you. Is there some logical reason you made this crickets post?

Unanswered question remains unanswered. You'd think it would be an easy one.

Suspicion confirmed Haha. You are free to start your own thread about your question then else. I won't be derailing here with a poster who has an exposed hypocritical agenda. Also feel free to participate in this conversation and answer the question and topic in the OP:2wave:

Who knew that I asked such a difficult and unanswerable question of you? Well, I did. That's why I asked.

Anyway, interest lost now. Unsubscribing.

Good move since you were exposed :2wave:

Clearly I'm dating myself, since the politician I'm going to name is now dead, but I really enjoyed listening to and watching Ann Richards, the former Democrat Governor of Texas. I love a strong woman with a sense of humour - the world's a better place with strength and humour.

Can you name some politicians that you like from another party? You don't have to like their politics, maybe you even hate their politics but you feel they are good people in general. You could find yourself at least giving them some support because of that. For me its:

Tom Wolf
Joe Biden
Corey Booker
Gavin Nordstrom
Bernie Sanders

I like them in general when I see them speak or interviewed. Of course I do NOT like what they always have to say but I feel they are good people and they "seem" good hearted. Do you have anybody you like from the other side?

Being a member of the Reform Party, the not other party encompasses both major parties. I think President Obama is good people, but half the time we been on opposite side of the fence. I like Joe Manchin, he reminds me of the Democrats of old, the type of Democrat I grew up around. I respect the heck out of Sanders the man, but not his politics. I like both of my senators, Isakson and Perdue. On the other side, I live in David Scott's Congressional District, he is a good man and is pro veteran. His other politics sucks, but that doesn't take away from the man.

On the other side of the coin, I couldn't stand Harry Reid or Mitch McConnell. Throw in Nancy Pelosi with the crowd I don't like, although I respected and liked John Bonher. I don't care one iota for my governor, Nathen Deal, he rubs me the wrong way. I liked Bill Clinton, although I really, really dislike his wife. She's way too aloof and shows her elitism too much. I would love to have a beer or two with Bill. Trump I can't stand either, he reminds me of a 5th grade schoolyard bully, his constant twitter escapades of a three year old throwing a temper tantrum.

Past senate leaders I repected and liked include George Mitchell, Tom Daschel, Trent Lott, Bob Dole, Howard Baker, Everett Dirksen, Mike Mansfied and even LBJ whom when I grew up was the Senate majority leader. There wasn't a president from Harry S. Truman through Obama that I didn't think was a good man. Politics aside and yes, that even include Nixon.
