Bo Bice discriminated at Popeyes

If I were him, I'd be more offended by the word "boy" than the very accurate word "white". "Boy" is condescending (not enough to make a public stink about it, though) and "white" is just a factual descriptor.

Great point. The 'boy' tag is clearly more insulting to a grown man than pointing out the obvious color of his skin. Just as saying the black 'boy' to a grown black male is insulting when saying the black 'guy' would not be.

Agreed. When someone refers to an obvious adult as a "boy"... or a "girl" for that matter... it denotes at best a condescending, superior tone, and at worst a denigrating one.

That said, what a damn wuss to make a public stink about it. Just shows that any excuse for publicity is a good excuse to those who want to be celebrities.

IMHO, all law suits about a person feeling like they are offended because of something related to race that someone called them are ridiculous. This is no different.

However, what's good for the goose is good for the gander.

Equal Protection and Due Process are not just reserved for minorities when it comes to race issues.

I see that any that would be the loudest in crying racism if this were reversed, are also saying this example is ridiculous because the term used was "white boy" toward a white man rather than "black boy" toward a black man.

He was probably upset that no one recognized him as that guy from that **** show with that sarcastic British fellow.

Overly sensitive, Bo. Calm down. I remember the names they used to call me in high school before I was able to rid myself of the Spanish accent. I always ignored it as chilsdish and stupid. Bo should have looked him in the eye and smiled.
