America needs to find people who are interested in civility, who are interested in working with their fellow men, not only the ones who will stroke their egos by telling them that they are right.

Please try to not write people off as defective and even worse so defective that they could not be right and even worse still so defective that they need to be forcibly shut up......because they dont agree with you and/or suffer from ignorance.

There are a lot of idiots running around ****ting on people who have different opinions from them, with their mouths running but sadly their ears mostly closed, and the brains only in support of their ego, their hearts found to be cold.

We have to do better.

We die if we dont.

What he may be getting at is the extent to which federal involvement can cause a once-private institution to be considered a "state actor" for section 1983 purposes (federal statute allowing various civil rights suits) or "Blevins" suits or various other means of suing various government actors for various violations of various things.

It's complicated and it gave me a Richter-10 headache in law school, so I'd rather not to go back and try to figure out the details so as to explain them.



It takes more than merely receiving federal money to be considered a "state actor" by the courts, but various levels of involvement can elevate one's status, and sometimes you only find out as a defendant once the federal appellate court issues its decision...

Leading by example is already well established, for the most part.
Still, it hasn't been an example the leftists have decided to follow.
All you have to do is look at how the left end of the political spectrum has lost their collective minds with the election results, with only more of the same and even worse to follow.

It's their turn to show some civility, if they can manage it.

Just have to look at who's heads are exploding, and continue to explode, with the advent of the election results.

Who from which end of the political spectrum was threatening the Electoral college members with death threats, and threats against their families?

What about the post election 'not my president' riots, with their destruction of property? What about the cases of Trump supporters getting he living hell beak out of them by gangs of 'not my president' thugs?

What of the hiring of thugs to violently disrupt and intimidate the opposition's political rallies?

I don't recall anything like that after either the '08 or the '12 elections. So your claim of glass houses is baseless.

The left end of the spectrum has much of it's recent behavior it needs to apologize for, much it needs to be contrite about.

But we both know that it's going to happen. The left is going to continue to make baseless claims in an attempt to de-legitimize a legitimately elected head of state, and the instability that could induce.

the problem I have with this type of "stoning" is that people politicize it and then become irrational themselves...(that part they never see though)

it's purely emotional masturbation but the anger is real and that piece is dangerous as it can lead to bad judgement in real life

I also question but have not yet concluded if crazy people who are a part of the "power group" can really do that much damage to "the power group" other than cause emotional masturbation amongst other borderline irrationals

I thought his quote about Haiti was well within the boundaries--- from what I've read about the history of the place, not only was that kind of thing not out of the ordinary, the white slave owners brought it upon themselves via the trifecta--- being brutal, arrogant, and, most importantly, stupid.

There must be a lot of stress in being a well know lefty professor right now, especially one whos claim to fame is expertise in Venezuelan and communes.....all of these eager young minds coming to him for molding, wondering how to explain the implosion of Venezuela, wanting to talk BLM and Trump. Maybe if said professor cant come up with good arguments the anger rises, both in his students and in himself.

And he kept his job. Strange coincidence that the people trying to shut down a professor who hurt their whitey feelings tend to be the same people who whine about free speech for students.
