Trump's Cabinet Picks and your opinion of each

The Corporate State doesn't fix anything. Why would we want to fast track that?

So that the majority can recognize that we're all sitting in a pot of water, and the heat is going up.

Would you say that our government has slowly followed a very specific trend over the past, say...40 years, or so? And so long as it remains a slow process, it's harder to notice, especially as we raise our kids to expect it, as we do. Far better, IMO, to then rapidly increase the pace, and wake us up to this reality.

So are you suggesting child labor, fewer benefits, pay cuts and lower wages for everyone who isn't upper level management so that we can compete with China and India? You lead the way. You first.

So that's the only way you see forward. I never heard Trump mention that, he talked about unfair trade practices, currency manipulation and high corporate taxes. Since you made the stupid and ridiculous assumption that I believe in the bull**** you wrote, and now realize how wrong you are, you lead the ****ing way. You clearly believe in this limited leftwing talking points approach to fixing our trade deficit and loss of jobs, so you take a pay cut. :doh

China nor India are egalitarian societies, though I have no doubt their workers would support fair trade. You suggest that in the US fair trade, lower corporate taxes and the cessation of currency manipulation will benefit who the most in the US?

I have to admit, I don't know a whole lot about these people. For those who know more about them, can you give a rundown of what you know and think about each one (or particular ones)?

A number are the antithesis to the purpose of the department they head. You can argue that is what we need to reverse over-regulation, but then what you are saying is the purpose of the given department, as designed, is wrong and needs to be reversed. To say so is being honest, though wrong.

People who need a job, and not the part-time ones created by Obama.

No time for a person by person run-down but Trump's cabinet picks, and I don't agree with every one of them, are what convinced me that my fears about Trump were unfounded.

It's ok, i can do a person by person rundown from my perspective:

Jeff Sessions - gets a 0% by the Human Rights Campaign on LGBT rights. What he can do: Remove Obama's orders to schools to discriminate against trans students, and do nothing when states like NC pass seriously anti LGBT laws

Ben Carson - compares gay to bestiality, opposed to anti discrimination laws. What he can do: Remove the 2012 decision prohibiting anti-LGBT discrimination in federally funded housing

Betsy DeVos - donates to anti gay groups and favors 'conversion therapy'. What she can do: Similar to the AG, can remove protections for trans kids in schools

Mike Pence - not cabinet but still, picked by Trump to take over as prez should it come to that. As governor, signed a license to discriminate law that drew such backlash, he was forced to amend it. Tragically his opponents were so inept or indifferent, his most hated legislation as governor was not even mentioned

Among other deplorables on his "transition team," Ken Blackwell - says gays can be reformed "just like arsonists"

Steve Bannon - likely white supremacist, head of Breitbart Media, the self proclaimed mouthpiece for "alt right" and has dozens of anti gay headlines. What he can do: advise Trump -

Donald Trump - said in the debate he wants to appoint SCOTUS and federal judges like Scalia, who crafted the minority opinion and voted against every single gay rights case, vowed to sign a federal license to discriminate law that is identical to the one Pence had to do away with

Trump's Antigay Cabinet and LGBTQ Rights | The Huffington Post

Tom Price - voted to add a constitutional amendment specifically to ban gay marriage. What he could do: removal approval for PrEP, the HIV prevention drug, and allow insurance companies to again discriminate against LGBT

James Mattis - wants to reinstate "DADT" to ban LGBT from the military. What he could do: easily rescind the ability of transgender to serve, since it wasn't legislation

Others whose powers i don't fully understand:

Nikki Haley - outspokenly anti gay
Rence Priebus - oversaw the historically anti gay republican platform

I will add Vladimir Putin to this list as a suspected Trump conspirator - as dictator, enacted a 'gay propaganda' law that is enforced brutally

Why do this? I remember in the past you tried to throw in my face as a guilt trip that you supported my rights while i didn't seem to support yours. Well, we hardly need "support" like this

My opinion of each is that they are **** thru and thru

I'll take an unpopular stance from my fellow #NeverTrumpers as say that thus far, I'm pretty happy with his Cabinet picks. I also think he (or his handlers more likely) is being very pragmatic about the choices he's making. He so easily could have repaid the loyalty of people like Rudy and Newt, and just been lazy and given them primo spots, but he didn't. He also gave serious consideration to former "enemies" like Romney. I think so far he's done a good job with his picks. My favorite is Rex Tillerson who I think is a brilliant choice for State.

Why is it that all you ever do is respond angrily to me? I mean, it's fine and I'll respond when I want and ignore it when I'm not in the mood, but chrom, there has to be more to life than constant anger.

Oh please. You have been completely brainwashed.

Obviously you look at the world with only one eye.

Obviously you look at the world with only one eye.

Obviously i think we can do better than this and i find it deeply offensive to continually celebrate the nomination to positions of power such bigots with a history of oppression. I could've made my post much, much longer, and illuminated every single flaws of all those candidates, but i was making a point

There's about 100 million he could've chosen who are more qualified than his education secretary, who has a bachelor degree only, hates public education (the vast majority of schools), drove Michigan's schools even further to the ground, AND is a complete outspoken bigot. Talk about "yes you have experience but it's bad." That's just one example

Because of what i said at the end and also because a few years ago you seemed to be one of the few conservatives who supported gay rights, so to see you now siding with those who did all they could to oppress is disappointing. Rest assured though, you've been just as angry, but not as long winded, with me over perceived slights when it comes to Christian rights...not that those are ever similarly in doubt. I can't even imagine your reaction if any of us showed such enthusiasm for a president and his entire cabinet who said Christians are all perverts, going to hell, they need to be converted, lose the right to marry or join the military etc. So i think fair is fair

But you should know i usually interpret a non response or derail from someone with 40k posts as "I have no idea how to defend what i said earlier" If you weren't in the mood is all, you would just come back to it later

I checked out the Steve Bannon guy when the MSM was labeling him an anti-semite and white nationalist and think much of that is largely overblown. The only thing I know about him in regards to his LBGT stance is his connection to Milo who Bannon has made a star at Breitbart. Also, Ben Shapiro and Steven Crowder hate the guy but denies the racism/antisemitism stuff. According to them it is troubling that he was selected to be anywhere near the white house but not for anything the MSM has put out.

Interpret it however you like and thanks for the heads up that you're going to interpret my posts (or non posts) however you want regardless of what I do or do not say. Saves me time. Most of my posts came in my first 3 years. Heck, here I am actually trying to explain something after you've already told me what a waste of time that would be. Anyway, I have no control over what you perceive and I really don't want any more space in your head. I get absolutely nothing out of it and that's the truth. I usually just feel irritated after interacting with you so I guess I need to figure out why I still do it. I have enough irritants in my life (I know, I know, you couldn't care less). I'm do wonder what you're getting out of the constant anger and attack. Must be something.

The site i linked to had a ton on the Milo-Bannon connection and it definitely doesn't reflect well on either. Howard Dean rather non diplomatically called him a Nazi. My take on it is this: don't run a site unless you want to be held accountable for the content

But thanks. It's nice to know at least one person is capable of a thoughtful on topic reply after reading all i said

Josie, I like that you say you know very little about them. Don't we all?
I, for one, like to give everyone a chance. Who knows, they may turn out to be perfect for the job. I like competent people who get results, not someone who talks a good game but doesn't deliver.
If they aren't doing the job they were appointed to do, then we should hold their feet to the fire. So we just have to wait, at least for a while.

As i figured, nothing to say on topic. Talk about anger and attack. This is exact opposite the tone i got from you a couple months ago too when you were praising my posts, but you're currently absorbed in the election, or still forum burnout, or RL crap

Truth is, i have wondered the same since you asked why do i bother, if i consider you a lost cause. But then, you didn't piss me off until now, with this "space in your head" crap like i'm in love or some bull****. You don't get to conjecture about my mental state and pretend to have never gotten anything out of my posts, then revert to interaction for whatever reason, like in other threads. So make whatever threats you want, not sure i want to put up with this either

I simply didn't know anything i said got to you THAT much. That's kind of disturbing since i was never trolling (i only do that to logicman types). So i'll spare you the conundrum - I insist on a time out. You don't reply to any posts of mine, and i won't reply to any of yours
