We know you are holding up an unrealistic idealistic standard, well intention-ed but dangerous to the rest of us. The American people have left your side behind and one of the reasons for that is that you ignore the obvious.

The dangerous folk are obvious.

Am reminded of the picture of the beautiful buxom woman in a close up showing lots of cleavage...with an ape in the background. Shown to a bunch of guys and then later questioned about the ape, none saw it as they were focused on the voluptuous mammary glands. I have no idea what you folks are focusing on, but its not the 900 lb gorilla in the room.

Is there some reason murdering someone in the name of Allah is worse than another murder? Is there some reason this justifies targeting anyone else who worships Allah?

He probably would have if those murders were committed specifically in the name of Jesus.
I think it's human nature to view people who commit sub-human acts in less than favorable light, espeically when there's a consistent and oft repeated pattern.
Well, not all humand. I guess i"m speaking for the deplorables not those who have a achieved a higher spiritual hilltop,like liberals.

Ah....you wish to parse the argument to tr to avoid the link to fundamentalist terrorism. OK then....
Murder is murder. No doubt. But in addition to murder there is cause. Society should always be concerned about cause if there is a hope of confronting a 'problem'. For example...inner city murder rates are pretty horrific. There are many 'causes'. If the problem of murder is ever going to be addressed, the root causes must be addressed. Similarly...terrorist attacks are also a 'problem' and if you are ever going to address it you must be willing to acknowledge it and confront it.

Wouldnt you agree?

The part that confuses me is where we propose these sweeping changes in response to the tiny minority of killings, undermining the fundamental principles of free nations, while doing virtually nothing in response to the majority of killings.

:lamo I have no confusion. I understand leftists perfectly well when it comes to fundamentalist extremist terrorism just as I understand them when it come to the 'majority of killings'. Leftists ignore the majority of killings in our country for example because if they chose to focus on the majority of killings they would have to deal with the unfortunate reality that not only are they perpetrated ON black Americans but they are also perpetrated BY black Americans. Dealing with that head on might risk cries and accusations of racism from a population of people leftists have learned long ago to exploit, so of course...they cant do that. As for the leftists response to Fundamentalist Islamic terrorism, I understand the left quite well there too. The left is driven by their innate need to oppose all things conservative. Therefore...conservatives speak out against fundamentalist Islamic terrorism and the lefts kneejerk conditioned response is to minimize.
