One Month Left in Office, and President Obama goes on a 2 week vacation in Hawaii

You clearly have learned nothing from the 2010, 2014, and 2016 elections. In any case, repealing Obamacare will take at least a year, however executive orders can be dealt with immediately.

We'll see what Trump is made of then, rather quickly. Eh?

I don't really give a damn what they will or will not accomplish in their last 5 weeks in office. I just feel it's insane to take an 8 million dollar vacation on the taxpayers dime with just weeks left in office.

They all go on vacay at Christmas. Sheesh.

I somehow doubt you complained at the time about the vacations of any president with an R after their name. Moreover, lets say you are going to leave the company you work for. Would you not want your benefits, such as remaining paid vacation time before you left?

You would be right, sport. I didn't. However it had nothing to do with having an "R" after their name. I was simply not aware of those vacations being taken weeks before leaving office. I have not always been as politically aware as I have been in my middle age years.

I have been in the work force since the late 1960s. Ofcourse I wanted and accepted all my benefits and remaining paid vacation time. However I never scheduled a vacation within weeks of leaving any company. They simply paid me for any remaining vacation days, profit sharing, etc. Same goes with the only job I ever had in government service(military). I did not request to take leave within five weeks of separation.....even though I still had four weeks coming to me. They simply paid me for that accrued leave time when I separated.

How arrogant, elitist, self-absorbed and disrespectful of the American taxpayer do you have to be to take a two week golfing vacation in Hawaii on the taxpayers' dime when you only have about five more weeks in office? Couldn't wait until January 21st to travel to Hawaii at your own expense President Obama? Feel entitled to soak the taxpayers one more time?

This is exactly why someone as inappropriate as Donald Trump is now the President elect in your great country.

President Obama can't leave soon enough - stay in Hawaii and never show your face again.

Morning CJ, Far as I am concerned being on vacation is the best place for him. I've noticed when Obama does nothing, stays out of the news, his approval rating rises to above 50%. When he does things and gets into the news, his approval drops below 50% going as low as 41% in early 2014.

Looking at the trend lines of his approval ratings from the beginning till now, they tell a story that states he has been a good president for the democratic base, not so good for those on the right and probably below average for us who are in the middle.

But that doesn't make him a bad president, just below average. Below average might be good considering how divided this country is, how polarized it is. Perhaps we have reached the point here in the good old USA where a third of us will always be opposed, a third always being for and a third just hoping for the best, stuck in the middle.

Good afternoon Pero - Merry Christmas and all the best in the New Year.

Hawaii is a US state and it is Christmas. The OP isn't paying attention to what he's pasting

We are all aware that Hawaii is a state. That's not the point. The point is that Obama's vacation to Hawaii will cost the American taxpayers roughly 8 million dollars. he could have given the taxpayers a break and waited 5 weeks.

the fact that you ignore his meeting with Abe at PH just paints you into the right wing bubble.

Republicans just need safe space bubbles from reality.

Nah. Voting for Obama is an act of lunacy.

So when President Obama goes home for Christmas, it's lunacy according to you. When President Reagan goes home for Christmas, it's NOT lunacy according to you. I can guess why there seems to be a double standard.

nope the bubble comes from the fantasy created by all your right wing fake websites

Ah! Another who can only see through very deep colored blue glasses. Been a very long time since I was called right wing, but for the most part those on the left view the people in the middle as right wing and those on the right view us as left wing. I take you comments as a compliment as one who wears glasses of very little tint.

"The American taxpayer..." so President Elect Trump is not included in your rant?

It's Christmas you know. What should Obama be doing? Appointing a supreme court justice that congress will block because they have ignored their jobs for years and chosen to do everything in their power to prevent a working relationship? Oh, wait, congress isn't doing anything right now because there is a non-legislative period from December 19th to the 30th. When does his vacation end? The 30th! What a weird coincidence.
