Trump lost the popular vote by a significant margin. On top of that it's now looking like his Electoral College victory was ill begotten through a combination of FBI meddling and Russian hacking, both
aimed at hurting Clinton and helping him. These threats to the perceived legitimacy of his Presidency can't endear Hillary to him. Re-enter the Trump threat to "lock her up" which he now says he won't do. He can't lock her up but he can have his attorney general appoint a special prosecutor and he's erratic and peevish enough to change his mind and do it. Hillary's supporters, and I imagine Hillary herself, are insulted at the idea of Obama pardoning her since they believe she committed no crime. But suppose Obama took the sting out of it by pardoning her and also pardoning Trump. At the same time. Hillary for the emails, Trump for his life's work, so to speak, specifically, securities fraud, business fraud, Trump University fraud, sex crimes against women in cases not yet closed out by state statutes of limitations, and anything else the lawyers think of.

Trump hasn't been convicted of anything, so there's no pardon possible. What are you talking about?

Maybe by his VP after impeachment?

Are you high? Pardon Trump for what?

He hasn't been charged with a crime.

The idea that the election was hacked by the Russians is absurd.

Everyone knows that it was really the mole people who rigged things.

That's totally unfounded conspiracy nonsense, Luther. Everyone with a brain knows that the Spanish Inquisition were really the ones doing the rigging here.

While I agree the OP is silly, one doesn't have to be convicted or even charged to be pardoned. You don't even need a specific crime. A person can be pardoned for any crimes that MAY have been commited in a given time frame.

Argh. I hate being wrong.

Slow day at work for you today?

this is true, however one has to accept the pardon, and to accept seems to indicate guilt.

Just. No.

I don't recall mentioning Hillary or Nixon. Can you please post a link to where i mentioned them? Certainly not in the post you quoted.

I said you suggested them, not named them. Do I have to spell it out?

I made one post in this thread. This was it.

I not only didn't say Clinton or Nixon, I didn't even "suggest" them. You may need some glasses or something. My post was about Trump and with no hint of reference to anyone else. Pay attention.

Okay. Hillary Clinton and Nixon are foremost examples of the fact that conviction is not prerequisite to a Presidential pardon. A pardon for Hillary has been widely discussed; Nixon got one. These two examples might have spared you asking the question you asked. Instead, your question suggested their examples.
