Woman Made Up Tale of Anti-Muslim Attack by Men Shouting 'Trump': Sources

No. Try again.

Incorrect. I'm commenting that you people latch onto these fake stories to convince yourselves there are none that are true.

Funny how you group all into one classification by using "you people".

Who stated that all of the reported attacks on Muslims are not true? Anyone with a brain would know that is such a baseless generalization statement on your part. Of course some Muslims have been attacked. No doubt some have been carried out by so called Trump supporter.

It seems "you people" are trying hard to make excuses for the Muslim who reported a fake attack. There, I feel better using our style of discussion.

Nobody said it. But they're convincing themselves of it. You even just demonstrated some of the mindset yourself: using the phrase "so-called Trump supporter."

It's only natural that some conservatives would behave this way. Nobody wants to think of themselves as on the same political side as these maniacs. Same as I hate to think of myself on the same political side as those antivaxxer nutters. But it's true: the majority of those people are liberal. (minus a small number of libertarians who are more "vaccines are good but the government shouldn't force them on us")

Of course, other forum members don't have that cognitive dissonance issue. They're just out in the open in claiming we're at war with Islam. They don't put much thought into the ramifications of that language. Must be so much easier that way.

And yes, I'll broad brush it. I used to bother differentiating conservatives, but I've been lumped into one ball with every whackjob so many times that I just don't give a **** anymore. My personal favorite was being told I am personally complicit in the deaths of 20 million people per year.

It is interesting how the news (liberal) jumps on the story at the start., ie a Muslim woman was attacked. Only to find out that she wasn't. Much like the news so quickly jumps at how a minority was raped, etc.. when the person wasn't.

The news should really do a better job of investigating before "reporting".

Exactly right. Nothing to substantiate this other than a Facebook post and a police report, and yet the story is prominently and cleverly sold as fact while using modifiers such as "police said" and "allegedly." And then we find these same media outlets editorializing against "fake news." Nice to see them get egg on their faces over this.
