Drain the Swamp

Ummm... Well, from what his looking like, you're gonna be very disappointed and should already be very disappointed...
Im not anything but optimistic so far. I was optimistic about obama his first term too. He disappointed me. I was disappointed with my fellow citizens when they saw fit to give him a second term. I will judge trump on his accomplishments and failures, if he disappoints me it wont.be the first time. Some are condeming him before he is even sworn in.

Trump promised to tax the hell out of carrier if they send any jobs to Mexico. Carrier is still sending 1,300 jobs to Mexico and now gets a big ol tax break. Trump bowed to his corporate masters.
I personally dont think corporations should be taxed to begin with so i dont really have a problem with it if thats what he did

America was already great. It never stopped being great. The slogan is idiotic.
Listen to the lefts rhetoric you would never know we were ever great.

That's funny, because that sounds an awful lot like the rhetoric we're hearing from the right these days. Go figure.

Oh, so drain the swamp just meant get rid of democrats. It makes a lot more sense now.
Of course it did.

Pfft, yeah right. That's why his cabinet is being occupied by the same-ol' same-ol' Washington Republocrat Insider.
There is a difference between insider and establishment. So not really.
If he chooses Romney then you could say he selected an establishment insider, not that it matters what they are because they will be following Trump's direction regardless of where they previously sat.

Under obama, we have not been Great at all......we became butt buddies with socialists and Marxists.....and the nation was on the downhill slippery slope.....and Hillary would have just kept it sliding.

Not for nothing but those of you who are claiming that trump is more of the same what is your nose bent out of shape over. You should be pleased if you were happy with obama and trumps no different

What if we also hated Clinton, Bush, Obama, as well as Trump because he'll be no different?

That's one half of the swamp that needs to be drained.

What about the other half?

Sure we do but obama is on record saying it could not be done yet trump did it.

Suspect the two men were talking about two different things. What Trump did appears to be terrific - pending a fuller revelation of the details. And it was made easier by the Pence governorship right there. As I said, is this replicable to become policy? I suspect Obama looked at this as merely one part in a very large puzzle that is not something he could fix without action by Congress as part if a major policy initiative.

Like what you claim the left does, Trump ran a campaign on the idea that America isn't great.
I guess i can see how someone might see it your way.

I would say to you to give him chance before condemning him to being the same as the others.

Except that several are not going anywhere and some of the others are retired or about to be. I loved the news stations as if trump can do anything to them. Interesting that no Repubs are mentioned, guess they are all doing a great job.

I was simply contrasting the two men because the claim was made that we were replacing obama with the same boss. Trumps presidency hadnt even begin yet and he is already begining to show he is distinctly different than the old boss.

Well his financial picks look strangely familiar like the old boss.

One has to ask if this is a viable policy or a one shot publicity grab with a good side to it? Can the USA afford to give every company in the land this same sort of favored treatment? We need to see all the details of what this involved.

Why would one have to ask? I expect you'll see the details soon enough. If not, I'll you'll just have to pass it so you can read it.

The swamp, defining it as the federal government from top to bottom, is pretty well entrenched and unwilling to be drained. I don't think a president can drain it. It would require the voters to vote all the elected officials out of office over and over again until they finally drain it to survive. We let it get this way for a long long time and one presidential term in office isn't going to change it. If you want it changed it is on you and me. And half of you and me want it stay as it is and even grow. It is hopeless in my view because it would require a united electorate.

This is true.
If the numbers I've heard are accurate, the cost of keeping each job amounts to around $700 per year.
This is peanuts compared to the costs that the gov't---state and federal----would have incurred had these workers been laid off.
The cost of unemployment payments alone would have dwarfed that $700 per year.

In the last 24 hours, he's worried India by saying he'd visit Pakistan (upsetting a delicate balance between two nuclear powers) Invited the Phillipines thug Duterte to DC, and angered China by speaking to the President of Taiwan breaking a 30 year "One China" policy. How many chances does he need? Anyone would think you had elected a ****ing idiot with zero political experience.

It could be that he hastens global warming by nuclear holocaust.

you left out..............With better morals and common sense...;)
Minus your pointless subjective stance you are simply proving my point. The swamp is not being drained.
