Der Dumbpster is not just (as of today) 2.4 million votes behind Clinton .....[W:37]

Re: Der Dumbpster is not just (as of today) 2.4 million votes behind Clinton .....[W:

Yeah, the Texans completed more passes and rushed for more yards than the Packers, but the Packers still won the game. I can't believe the injustice of that.

Yeah, because football games are just the same as elections, right (this is, of course, the reductio ad absurdum fallacy and you hit it square on the head). BTW, I love Mencken, too, but one needs to be wary of quote-mining in that motherlode. There are more then enough skewerings of all sorts to go around. A particularly timely one is this one:
"As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron." — H. L. Mencken
And he was absolute hell on religion--so much so that there's an entire web page dedicated to that:
https://www.goodreads.com/work/quotes/291915-h-l-mencken-on-religion

And although he hated the Nazis, he was also a non-interventionist particularly critical of Roosevelt's lend-lease program that helped keep England from getting swamped so he did not distinguish himself there. And here's another political quote that I'm particularly fond of:
In this world of sin and sorrow there is always something to be thankful for; as for me, I rejoice that I am not a Republican.
So there's plenty of both gold and fool's gold to be found in the Mencken oeuvre.

Speaking for myself, I have no experience with it.
You?

Oh, you sell yourself short. Denial has everything to do with supporting failure.

Well, Der Dumbpster went nearly a week without this kind of comment:
"I passed a line and I said, 'what's happening over there?' I thought it was a big movie. They said, 'no, sir, that's voting. They're voting,' and they're voting like really early. And we have to discuss that early thing. That's sort of — so many things are going on. So many things. Wonder what happens during the evening when those places are 'locked', right?"

I almost thought I was not going to get another chance to update the vote count but I should never underestimate this big stooge's big mouth. Soooooo, as of this morning, Hillary leads Der Dumbp. by 2.48M votes and multiple states, blue and red, have still not certified their vote counts. As promised, I will not keep reminding everyone about how many more voters didn't want the Tangerine Baby Man (that total is now nearly 11M) than did as long as he doesn't keep suggesting the election was rigged. Or, if he calls for a new election to settle the matter. Now that he's shown he's going to fill the swamp with the very type of Wall St. crocodiles he told us were the cause of all our economic problems and we've seen that his strategy for "punishing" companies that exporting jobs is not to tax the hell out of them but to shower them with taxpayer money I suspect we'd get an altogether different result.

Okay, no more Mother Jones with Salon chasers for you.

IOW, you don't want to be bothered by facts and arithmetic. You made that clear long, long ago, bub.
