Upside Of President Trump

Bill was mediocre. He rode the tech and dot.com booms. Hillary is crooked, and would have sold secrets to China for a sum.

For all the whining the republicans did for calling Trump a RINO, you'd think this was the kind of compromise we need between the two major parties.

A good example of public policy vs. personal opinion. It's a shame so few citizens know the difference.

Wasn't going to go anywhere anyway.

Such is the shame. Obamacare needs to go before it's cost drives us down the Venezuela-like toilet bowl.

Won't matter if it's 500 million by February. Liberals will spin it.

...we'll see.

Hopefully we're not pushed into one. Would be a shame for him to turn out to be a puss like Obama.

Obama said one thing while running and put on a completely different hat while governing. He went from an eloquent speaker to a stuttering moron who puts people to sleep before he spits out his point. I would not be 100% shocked to see Trump follow the same path.

By the time millennials begin collecting babyboomers will be dead and the program will be solvent again. Problem is too many boomers collecting huge sums for many many years without enough millennials paying the max. Duh.

Do you have any source that supports your statement. The Trustees say that it is exactly wrong - the shortfalls rise forever, and get wider every year. So before you start throwing DUHs around you probably ought to look at the data first hand.

Ok, I'm probably standing on the runway buying tickets from the carny for a shot at winning the stuffed animal here, but there are some positives to this election.

1. Clintons are gone. Bye bye Bill, Hill and the little turd in waiting.

2. Trump is not exactly a Republican. Odds are he gets along better with the Tim Ryan Wing of the Democratic party than the establishment R's.

3. Although pro-life, Trump has publicly stated that Planned Parenthood should be kept around since they do a lot of good things.

4. Trump has stated his support for Social Security and Medicare

5. He likes the pre-existing provision of Obamacare

6. 75 Million new jobs plan--how he does it is a mystery, but I heard him throw that number around.

7. Infrastructure rebuilding plan proposed, much to the chagrin of the Establishment GOP.

8. Say's no more entries into stupid wars

9. Says no more dumb ass trade agreements that cost us more jobs than they create

10. Says no more being stupid period

The professional swindler swindled his constituents. It seems like they haven't even noticed.

4. Trump has stated his support for Social Security and Medicare

I wouldn't count on that. He's installing a Medicare privatization proponent to head HHS and has adopted Paul Ryan's euphemistic "Modernize Medicare" language on his transition website.

He may not like Obamacare but all signs are pointing to him using it as the blueprint for a Medicare overhaul.

Curious to see how far they go---old people vote, all the time.

If anyone can sell a **** sandwich to his supporters and make them like it, it's him. I had hoped that their spat over the summer would keep Paul Ryan from using the cult-like ferocity of Trump's core supporters to further his own ends. But that hope has been fading as it's becoming clear that Trump will likely take his policy cues from his (generally atrocious) appointees, not the other way around.

He's already picked a Goldman Sachs guy for Treasury. Will his constituents realize they've been had? Probably not. Buckle up. It's gonna be a hell of a ride.

I've posted this before, but in the wake of the election, a scene from The Dark Knight came to mind:

I am going to have so much fun beating on the trumpets. I just had no idea it would be this easy and begin so soon :)

Nothing would be more amusing than if Trump four years from now was more popular among liberal voters than self proclaimed "conservatives". Nothing would please me more than to see conservatives with egg all over their faces when they realize their new "conservative hero" is nothing more than a big government liberal.

You gotta wonder when the Right cheers Trump saving a 1000 union jobs at Carrier. You really do have to scratch your head over that one.
