Look guys, I've vehemently disagreed with Donald Trump on many issues throughout the course of his presidential campaign. I certainly don't like the fact that he is our President (although I wouldn't have been happy with a Clinton presidency either, as I hate them both).

But I do think we all need to give Donald Trump a chance. If you noticed, he's changed his tune significantly after he won the election. It's like an entirely different person just replaced the volatile, rude, and incredibly explicit Trump we all loathe and despise. I'm thinking that because of that, he might actually be able to do some good over the course of the next 4 years. If he can be reasonable, it can be possible to work together with him. But we have to be willing to do that first.

However, if he does something unforgivable, I will be happy to throw Trumpster under the dumpster.

This is fair.

As long as we all stay away from dumpsters for his first 100 days, things should be good for all of us.

Remember the first CONAN movie?

Sometimes success can be as challenging as the strongest advisory.

I agree with The Governness. The right thing to do right now is to sit back with a score card.

PROMISES vs. ACTIONs

On my score card, he already broke two promises.

1 = saying he would NOT prosecute Hillary.

2 = believing he even has the power to prosecute Hillary. This would say his DOJ would be a political tool, just like Obama's was.

He has the chance whether you like it or not. I think the main problem is that seismic shift the moment it was clear he won. It basically proves that he is a blatant liar and fraud; you just don’t know if he was lying during the campaign or he is lying now (or both!). I think that justifies the greater attention and caution around the appointments and policy statements he’s now making. It’s not that people should be unwilling to work with him (though I can see it making some people less willing to do so) but those expected to do so are naturally going to be more wary.

We already have given him a chance. And he seems to be doing, what I would have expected.

PS...if you can see his CON, then he is not much of ARTIST at it either.

Not true. Just because I can see his con, doesn't mean everyone can. Con artists prey on needy people. They seek out people who have an unfulfilled need and they pounce on it. They find people who feel unheard and unwanted in their lives and say all of the things that that person hopes to be true and then they exploit that hope for personal gain.

They sell an illusion. They target people who want the illusion to be true so badly that they will reject the warning signs and buy in wholeheartedly.

The artistry that Trump employed was by performing a mass con on a national scale. He did this by controlling the negative media about himself and portraying himself as the overwrought victim that his marks see themselves as. His marks are people who have been accused of racism for things like feeling that affirmative action is unfair to them or saying "all lives matter". When he gets accused of saying racist things, they are quick to defend him even if what he said was actually racist, because they've "been there".

One of the most common refrains we heard from Trump supporters throughout this election was "He says what everyone is thinking." This is actually a person's way of normalizing their own thoughts by generalizing them to the rest of the population. What they really mean is, "He says the things that I am thinking." Then the left called Trump an idiot, a racist, a misogynist, etc. This made a man who has literally nothing in common with his marks to be accepted as "one of them", because when he was being called those things, it felt like they were being attacked, too. After all, he's being attacked for saying the things they believe that "everyone is thinking".

This helped ingratiate him with a subset of the population which should, by all rights, despise him. Middle class working people in rural areas are not exactly fond of Hollywood types, New York elitists, and billionaire urbanites. Ted Cruz understood that Trump's base should hate him, which is why he talked about his New York values like he did, but what Cruz failed to realize is that Trump had already been accepted by his marks by that point. It was too late, the con was on.

The artistry of the con is not failing to be noticed by those who would never be your mark. It's getting your mark to buy in so much that they will defend you under any and all circumstances. It's getting your mark so invested in the illusion that they will actually convince themselves to do your bidding. Trump did this to perfection.

Do I have a choice?

Trump is still president elect. His tune will change once he takes office. And there is no good reason to give him a chance. His entire campaign war a big lie. One lie after another flip flopping all over the place. He hasnt been able to show that he has a clue wtf he is doing. All that Trump can do is lie and whine about criticism.

And then there is the part where "giving Trump a break" is part of his camps propaganda. Sorry but when someone purposely does things like that I tend to not do what they tried to get me to do.

he told us exactly who he is during the primaries and in the general. he told us exactly what he wants to do, as well. his "chance" with me was back then.

The same way the Republicans gave Obama a chance, right? -wink wink nudge nudge-

The last I read DJT said, he would not pursue charges against Globalist Granny. He never said his administration wouldn't complete an investigation into her criminality. And he never said there would be no indictment by a Grand Jury. If he shows all his cards, BO could pardon Granny, and the country would not see her get her day in court. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt.

Personally I believe if you break the law, and there is evidence to prove that, then it becomes a criminal issue, not a political one. And that goes for all the SOB'ing politicians, not just leftists.

In that case, and I hope you are right, then it is a very savvy and slick move on his part.

This way he has a date and a video he can show everyone where he said HE PERSONALLY does not want her prosecuted, but he did not speak for the DOJ or the Senate.

Good move.

It's just a guess on my part but I would like to see her face justice. Even if she gets probation or some lightweight sentence. Maybe that will give the other corrupt politicians something to think about. But then part of me says she needs a big kick in the butt too.

I just want to see her have her day in court.. Don't care if she goes to jail, just want the verdict..

Maybe just exile from politics? That would do it for me.. Along with an admission of guilt..

I'm okay with that too. Along with her daughter. :)

Every presidential candidate is a con artist

He is a horrible excuse for a human being.

At least he did not claim to have dodged sniper fire in Bosnia.
