Step One: FAIL

I have absolutely no idea what you mean with this line
you claim victory for something that wasn't being competed for. you clearly have no idea what victory means.

What does that even mean?

it means they were in a competition, but not for popular votes. They were competing for the presidency. you are claiming victory on something that wasn't being competed for. you live in a strange reality where words lose meanings.

Really!?!?!?!?! So a major party candidate sets out to finish second in the popular vote? WOW!!!!! I that is true I wonder why they get so worked up about the public opinion polls of the peoples vote?

nope. they don't compete for second place either. the competition didn't exist, so the victory doesn't exist.

the competition is for president. you become president by winning 270 electoral votes. that is the competition.

why is reality so hard for you?

Your post that you refer to was #38. In it you point out GOP control of state houses and governorships. Which is true.

However, that in no way shape or form negates the hard cold facts that
1- nearly 2 million more people voted for the Democrat for President than the Republican
2- Democrats gained seats in the US House
Democrats gained seats in the Senate

That is the truth. Telling that truth is the opposite of avoiding the truth.

As I said your posts are a dishonest position.

Depends on what the party in power does. If the GOP rams through an unpopular disaster like Obamacare, then maybe. If they do popular things and Democrats keep the attitudes they have now, then maybe it'll be a while. We'll find out.
i'm going to go ahead and bet that despite Obamacare being a "disaster" The GOP and Trump will not only NOT repeal it, but will probably do nothing more than slightly tweak it. Then they'll sell a lie to their low information voters that it's something drastically different.

There's a reason why there was a surge in those signing up the moment Trump got elected.

OK, then.

40-45% of the people didn't vote and that doesn't change the equation? No. I disagree. :2no4:

You've got your head buried in the sand if you think Hillary lost because people didn't go out and vote (for her). Assuming you actually are correct, why did people not go out to vote (for her)?

You make it sound like it has been a wash. This could not be further from the truth. No party has ever been as vanquished to as little control as the Democrats currently are, in the entire history of the country.

Since 2008, the Democrats have lost an absolutely unprecedented ~1200 net seats nationwide.

That is CATASTROPHIC failure, my friend. Denial of it won't help you gain any of it back.

Ssssssssssssh. Don't spell it out for them, although they don't seem to be able to figure it out for themselves.

Again, gaining control doesn't mean a mandate especially when the votes were close.

Keep telling yourself that, just like the Republicans were dead in 2008 huh? Whatever helps you sleep at night. If you have your head in the sand so bad that you can't see things are cyclical, no one can help you.

Hah. But, the left thinks they can cram their values down everyone's throat when they have the "majority". Majority is never really a mandate for either side, but both sides think it is.

The Pendulum will swing back, if not in 4 years, probably eight.

Both sides should take this as a learning experience that the American public does not want either the left's or the right's agendas crammed up everyone's asses. Neither side ever learns though. That's why the pendulum keeps swinging back and forth.
