Trump's "Firing "squad"

"Donald Trump scolded media big shots during an off-the-record Trump Tower sitdown on Monday, sources told The Post.

“It was like a f–ing firing squad,” one source said of the encounter.

“Trump started with [CNN chief] Jeff Zucker and said ‘I hate your network, everyone at CNN is a liar and you should be ashamed,’ ” the source said.

“The meeting was a total disaster. The TV execs and anchors went in there thinking they would be discussing the access they would get to the Trump administration, but instead they got a Trump-style dressing down,” the source added.

A second source confirmed the fireworks.

“The meeting took place in a big board room and there were about 30 or 40 people, including the big news anchors from all the networks,” the other source said.

“Trump kept saying, ‘We’re in a room of liars, the deceitful dishonest media who got it all wrong.’ He addressed everyone in the room calling the media dishonest, deceitful liars. He called out Jeff Zucker by name and said everyone at CNN was a liar, and CNN was [a] network of liars,” the source said."

Many are intentionally obtuse..

Oh, he gives great face to the suckers and rubes who actually buy into his tough guy/hard ass/man of action schtick.

He makes an enemy of the media, as he's currently doing, and they're going to eat him alive.

I think you are a little late to the party.
The media is already predisposed to despise Trump, has been for the last year or so. You can see it in their coverage of him, all negative all the time, nary a good word. The electorate that's paying even the slightest attention sees it already, and has for some time.

So I don't think Trump lost much in this exchange.

I think he sounds like he has a personality disorder of some kind

Okay Trump, you won the election, you can stop acting like a baby and be a leader.

I don't see how making enemies every he goes from here is going to help him. He is rewarding his loyalists, but what happens when one of them steps up to Trump or turns the other way? This is not off to a good start.

A coward and a *****. But people still think he's a tough guy.

I'll give him 18 months before everyone he's got to work with and deal with, including the Republicans, says enough and they do whatever they can to get rid of him.

No way any politician can be this thin skinned and this much of a coward and survive.

What was the refrain that was repeated over and over? Trump will never be elected........

He did a show about that......................

Should liberals really be talking about Betas? Who loves the skinny jean metrosexual way of life again? Oh right, liberals men. :lamo

Yeah, tight jeans is what divides the alphas from the betas. :lamo

Trump generally doesn't make enemies, but more often than not returns fire when someone decides to disrespect him or someone close to him. He did it to the Muslim guy, that disabled reporter, to the theater, and to the media.

Yeah, tight jeans is what divides the alphas from the betas. :lamo

It was more used as characteristic for metosexuals, which are most definitely not alphas.

Making enemies? The MSM proved to be his enemy early on. To hell with the MSM (who are even now still 100% biased and have learned nothing).

I agree. The liberal media is never going to give President Elect Trump anything approaching fair coverage. They fell over themselves when Trump excluded them from dinner he other night.

President Elect Trump was right to get in their face. The people saw exactly what the media has become and they probably are relishing the reports of this meeting.

There was nothing to lose. The media either gets with the program, or all the elites can watch news feeds of press conferences broadcast on the internet.

What I do know is that Billionaires do not keep doing it for the money, they do it for the Power, and there is no more Powerful Position on the entire Planet than President of The United States of America. Power corrupts, keep that in mind and keep your eyes wide open.

The MSM didn't vet him. They didn't take him seriously nor question his policies or statements. He was treated dismissively by the MSM, but they enjoyed the ratings he brought him. I am kind of glad Trump pissed them off. I hope they don't have a honeymoon phase for Trump like they did for GWB. The media gave Bush a rubber stamp and free pass, and it got us the war in Iraq.

Ya but "Leader of the free world" has been going the way of "The king of England" for some time.

Good thing that Trump likes to do things the old way.... making deals, figuring out which ideas are the best, then trying to build consensus for those ideas, and cheering for America....all of America.

Obama could never be bothered to do the work.

If he was not going to be allowed to play KING OF AMERICA then screw us, that was his position.

Exactly. The media has lost any and all credibility with the majority of the electorate. What's going to be more interesting is what they end up doing to earn some of that back, if anything at all.

IMHO, it is just like the (media) weather forecasters (guessers?) - they get paid the same regardless of the accuracy of their forecasts. We simply must remember that those like Trump can neither ever get elected nor govern effectively. ;)

For many years (6+?) all that was wrong in the US was said to be due to Bush policy. Somehow I doubt that will be the case when Trump takes over. When Obama extended the "Bush" tax rates and later kept 98.6% of them with the new "Obama" tax rate package (including adding new PPACA taxes) we still are supposed to believe that they are not really the Obama tax rates. ;)

One has to take all reports related to Trump with a grain of salt and an eye to embellishment, however, I've been saying for a long time that Americans need to take back their country from the dishonest and manipulative media that is trying to dictate governance.

President Trump may be the unique character who is able to do full frontal battle with the media and still receive sufficient coverage and public exposure to survive. I wish him well in that regard.

When you think about it this could be freaking genius move on Trump's part. Who is going to believe that the mainstream media isn't biased against Trump after this? Who's going to believe that the MSM doesn't HATE Trump with incredible intensity? No matter what they say now Trump can just dismiss it with, "See? They hate me." Of course, we pretty much already knew that.
