I know my reaction to hearing someone yell out "Trump" in a Starbucks. I'd look to see who grabbed the cup, laugh a little and shake my head (possibly not in that order) and then go back to whatever I was doing. The same would go for any political message someone wanted to be called by.

And not putting that on or refusing to call it out is not illegal discrimination. This is especially true if they simply don't call out the name.

I'm not a patron of Starbucks, Dutch Bros. or any other coffee attraction. I've only been to Starbucks twice in my life and that was by invitation of an out of town friend, who has passed away. So, I did a quick survey of some of my neighbors. 6 total. I asked them "do you go to Starbucks?" They all said yes, some more often than others. Then I asked, "What happens after you place your order, how do they know which order is for you?" Everyone of them said, "they ask our name, write it on the cup and call it out when it's ready."

There are many other people in the USA, with the name of Trump, 20 of them named Donald. Starbucks would have no way of knowing if the name was legit or not and it's not a political message per se. So why would Starbucks object?

Because they call out first name, not last. How many people in this country have the first name "Trump"? Besides that, many might not even notice. Many more would likely just take their order (inwardly shaking their head) with a smile and go with it. Those doing this are idiots, but generally harmless. This type thing makes anyone doing it look at least as stupid or naive as someone who would have "rainbow warrior" or "social justice warrior" put on their cup. "Race together" was something they put on their cups a few years ago. I can see other things being asked for to counter "Trump" in this endless stupid circle.

They call out whatever name you give them. Why are they idiots, because they are sending a message to the people protesting Trump?

The people all over the nation, protesting Trump....are the true idiots!

They're not sending any sort of message out there, not by putting Trumps name on a cup to be called out by a worker serving you coffee. They are trying to piss people off. Either the workers or others in the place. This isn't about a counter protest. Like protesters on the street care about what some baristas call out? Please. That's bull****.

Maybe you need to re-read the OP. Here is the big difference.......the protesters on the street don't even know why they are protesting...it's all made up bull****, based on no action by Trump!
He won't be in charge for another 2 months. Meanwhile we still have that putz obama, who is continuing to be divisive and flaunting Federal law.

Those in the Starbucks, know exactly what they are protesting....the idiot, anti-Trump protesters.

If you want to complain about anything, it should be the protesters on the street, that don't have a clue!

Let me explain something to you. I think those Trump protesters are idiots. I get why they don't like him but he was elected.

However, I also recognize that they have some reason to protest even if we think it's stupid. The same thing is true about these cups though. They are a stupid form of protest. They have nothing to do with the other group and likely wouldn't effect the feelings of the other group in any way. So what exactly is the end goal? To show support for Trump by trying to make scene. That's it. It's just a much more mild form of the same nonsense of the other side only it is attempting to goad other people into doing something for you or to get them to refuse so some idiots can feel justified in boycotting a place like STARBUCKS or superior to those who work there. Despite their claims, this has nothing to do with anti trump protesters and everything to do with stroking ego.

I don't see this as delivering any message at all to Starbucks, or it's employees. That's not the point.

Both of the Starbucks in my town, are inside grocery stores, with the check out stands within ear shot....and people buzzing all about.

So when the barista shots out "Trump" it can be heard by 30 to 40 people, all at once....all day long. It's a very peaceful push back, to anti-Trump people. I think it's both brilliant and benign.

I'm happy that you think the protesters on the streets, are stupid and that tells me that we aren't really that far apart....:thumbs:
