Fashion Designers Refusing to Dress Melania Trump

I really like the middle one -- the first one is awful, the last one is just meh.

The middle one would have been better with the same pattern only in a red pattern. The yellow is not flattering.

That's the beauty of capitalism. For every pouting, angry, intolerant leftist dress designer, there are three who would step over their own mother to get a chance to design a wardrobe for the first lady. But we see where being the most disliked candidate for president ever got Hillary in the wardrobe department. She got Kim Jong Uns designer lol
People are going to associate with those they like.

This is an example.

It's a free country.

Nah -- yellow looks great on deeper skin tones.

Greetings, Erik. :2wave:

As usual, we aren't hearing the whole story. Michelle Obama has her favorite designers, some of which she helped get established, as they were "unknowns" prior to that, so naturally they are very loyal to her.

Melania Trump lived and worked in Europe, so she knew and patronized the "high end" designers long before she married The Donald, and she still does.

Kate Middleton, who may well become Queen of England one day soon, also has her favorite designers, and she is watched to see what she's wearing, since it's always appropriate for whatever function she is attending.

Each has her own tastes in what designer they choose, as we have seen, but I have yet to read about any designer that ever turned down an order from any customer, since it's a business, and they are in it to make money, while making their customer look good!

Greetings, Polgara. :2wave:

All that is well and fine, interesting that Michelle's fashion designers won't design for Melania, but then, not really a surprise I'd say.

I guess I'm really not into fashions, so my previous post stands as to my level of interest, or lack thereof.

Ummm, you seem to forget how many Stupid People there are. Sorry, I do hate reminding people of that since it is always is a rude awakening.

I know there are lots of dopes out there but a fistful of dollars gets waived in your face the kind of stupid displayed by these fashion designers tends to go away.

 Men usually aren't, but at the social level we're discussing, they usually get to pay the bills, bless their hearts!

As a side note I notice a lot of people have a interest in fashion, ever thought of starting a thread or maybe even a section on the site to discuss likes, dislikes, trends etc.? Just a suggestion. Touch base with the mods I think you would get some interest, more variety is always good, used to be on one of the biggest sites out there that had sections on nearly every topic anyone would be interested in and they have huge membership so it might be another avenue of interest here. Food For Thought.

Nothing says standing up for your political principles like denying a woman your specially designed fabric chunks made by children in Cambodia for pennies on the dollar.

Thats just so depressing. Does this mean that the designer that gave us the ever present boob belt and fashion that made MO's ass look like a dump truck WONT be dressing a wealthy former model?

Well...I'm sure thats a shame...somehow...

Well, when you run a campaign involving divisiveness and division, you're going to get some that don't like you back.

Goes with the territory ...

If they see her husband as a fascist, then I can't blame them. That's how they feel, it's like how lifers see abortion as murder.

Its not a beauty of capitalism. It is a symptom of division.

Division is not unique to capitalism. It exists everywhere. Capitalism simply handles division in a non-violent way. That is the beauty of capitalism.
