The Director of the Dallas Council on American- Islamic Relations (CAIR), Mustafa Carroll, made a surprising and shocking statement during a Muslim rally in Austin, Texas. He firmly believes that the message of the Qur’an is supreme over the United States constitution.

He said, “If we are practicing Muslims, we are above the law of the land.”

So a Muslim-American practices his first amendment right to free speech we should effectively oust Islam from America?

Me thinks you have no idea how "rights" work.

So when the words are put into action, will you denounce it then? I think you can see where he was going with this.

Of course, if someone were to try and enforce Shiara Law as a governing document by way of force and intimidation they should be tried by a jury of their peers.

However what you were insinuating was ousting a group of people because their ideology differs from your own. That is ironically against the values you wish to endorse.

Just checking. With this language though, its only a matter of time.

Ummm, many of not most Christians say the same thing when it comes to the Bible. Oh and there have many laws written and enforced that are Bible based. So is it ok for us to say and do it but not them? Interesting food for thought. That said, their religion has several tenants within it that maybe what is written but if implemented would violate US Criminal Law and as such will be prosecuted if pursued. Not to worry Sharia will never be implemented in the US, the population would have to convert in huge masses for that to take place and that is never going to happen.

Oh one final thought, you do know not all the refugees are Muslims, right? Would you take refugees if they are not Muslims?

When do the Deportations Start?

It is worth noting that not once you disagreed with the notion that the first amendment only applies to opinions you approve of.

Into action yes, his speech no. I know many Christians who have said the bible is above the constitution in regards to gay marriage. Should we oust those folks too?

When do the Deportations Start?

Deportations because of a difference in ideology?

This is the most unamerican rabble I have heard in a long while.

A. That is not reflective of all American Muslims.
B. There are plenty of Christians who consider the same thing about the Bible.

There's plenty of Christians out there that believe the Bible is superior to the Constitution.

And as others have expressed, he is exercising his 1st Amendment rights. Whether you personally disagree with his statement is largely irrelevant.

I'll care when he starts violating the law.

Not sure i understand, i agree 1st amendment applies to all. Words come before action, so excuse me if certain words cause more alarm than others.

Yes. For now, he is wrong. When he actually breaks a law, the US will take appropriate legal action. We're not going to deport someone for exercising their 1A rights.

You answered my question as to when...

Tread Carefully imported Muslims, you're very expensive, Not Wanted or Needed by MOST of U.S. ... and one mistake, and you're gone!

So where does the "libertarian" part to your lean come in?

Uh, that's not what causes alarm. Be-headings, treating women as sub humans, killing infidels. Again, i know these concepts are not exclusive to Muslims, but they tend to take the words of their book more literally than any Christian i know, and i know a lot, family is full of them. So when these words are spouted, to ignore it would be foolish.

I cannot believe you are acting so incredibly daft. I wish I had the time in crayons to draw this one out for you but instead take this bute sized sentence. "You cannot call yourself a library if you deny a book to your shelves."

Agreed. Too bad that when they "break the law" chances are death to innocents occur. Oh well, democracy right?

Never called myself a library, stop talking in riddles.

Yes, it does cause harm. Just because it doesn't kill someone doesn't mean it doesn't harm them. Either way there are groups that think they are above the constitution. As long as they don't act on that, they are fine.

Yes. Democracy. If you want peace of mind and safety from those who have broken no laws, there are plenty of totalitarian hellholes out there where you'll never have to worry about civil rights and moral standards getting in the government's way.

Wut?

He may think that, but he'd better not try to impose that.
