Around the nation, students are turning to the tools of toddlers as a bizarre form of therapy in the wake of Donald Trump's election last week. Colleges and universities are encouraging students to cry, cuddle with puppies and sip hot chocolate to soothe their fragile psyches, an approach some critics say would be funny if it weren't so alarming.

“This is an extreme reaction from millennials who are being forced to come to terms with the fact that we have a president that they don’t like –this is what losing feels like,” Kristin Tate, the 24-year-old author of "Government Gone Wild," told FoxNews.com. “We are grooming our students to be sensitive crybabies when we need to be showing students how to deal with world situations and how to be adults –there are no ‘safe spaces’ in the real world.”

I have no idea what is going on with millenials. I'm embarrassed to be in their age group sometimes. I'm assuming that these people grew up spoiled or something because if my parents caught me crying on a puppy over an election, I'd likely get a backhand to the head.

Thoughts?
Comments?

No ****. I'm a first year millennial and these people are just embarrassing. I realize people near the end of generations are not like the people near the beginning, but why do these ****ing sissies have to be the end of my generation? ****.

Someone gave my thread 1 star already? Would you like a puppy and some hot chocolate? :lamo

These are mostly rich kids I think. Here's a list some of the schools participating in Butt Hurt Therapy:
Cornell University recently hosted a “cry-in,” complete with hot chocolate and tissues for disappointed Hillary Clinton supporters.

University of Pennsylvania brought in a puppy and a kitten for therapeutic cuddling.

Tufts University held arts and crafts sessions for students.

University of Michigan Law School scheduled an event for this Friday called “Post-Election Self-Care With Food and Play” with “stress-busting self-care activities” including coloring, blowing bubbles, sculpting with Play-Doh and “positive card making.”

I would go for the aromatherapy and spa treatment.

Liberals cant even do this right.

It’s worth noting that some of these alleged events appear to be made up and some of the reporting has involved exaggeration and unsupported speculation. If you’re going to discuss what people are doing in response to the election result, you have a responsibility only discuss what they’re actually doing.

Since you say the story is false, can you prove it?

No, I said some of the events appear to be made up but thanks for the timely demonstration of the dishonest exaggeration.

I didn't concede anything, I corrected your lie. Why are you trying to distract from the point I'm making?

You said that you can't prove that the story is false, then went on to declare the events described in the story as exaggerated.

So prove that they're exaggerated, or you will appear to be Dishonest Joe.

It isn't one story, it's lots of individual stories, most presented with zero sources. As I've consistently stated, some of those appeared/i] to be made-up. The exaggeration is in statements like "Colleges and universities are encouraging students to cry, cuddle with puppies and sip hot chocolate to soothe their fragile psyches".

I honestly couldn't really care whether any of this is actually true or not. I'm more interested in the low quality of the so-called journalism and the way people (of all politics) will automatically believe literally anything they read if it supports their preconceptions. The only thing I suggested here was to clarify the actual facts before you start reacting to them, especially if those reactions are going to be negative.
