Bill Clinton Actually Gets It

Ed Klein: Bill Clinton: It's Hillary's Fault, Not Comey's

Bill was actually the last president who actually did a good job. Granted, the Republican congress kind of forced him into it but at least he worked with them instead of being the party of no like Obama has done. If he would have kept his pants zipped up he would have had a better place in history. After leaving office though he did get caught up of the Clinton crime syndicate. Anyway, at least he understands why Hillary lost.

Good article and I think Bill is right. Hillary doesn't have Bill's persona or ability to connect with the electorate he had. When Bill said, "I feel your pain," it came across believable to most Americans. Only two other presidents had that ability to connect with the people and be believed. FDR and Reagan. Hillary was dull and boring and screeched too much. She had the personality of a Nixon vs. a JFK.

Besides showing no empathy with the white working class, she ignored union workers and the young Sander's supporters. Union households went to Obama by 18 points, Hillary won them, but by just 8 points. The young Sander's supporters didn't like Hillary to begin with, but when proof surfaced in the Podesta e-mails that the Democratic primaries were rigged in Clinton's favor, a lot of them just stayed home saying to heck with it and an amazing 10% of Sanders voters voted third Party.

Bill hit the nail on the head as far as I am concerned, Hillary received 7 points less support among blacks than Obama, 6 points less support among Hispanics and 7 points less support among Asians than Obama. Trump increased his support over Romney with all minority groups.

One last thing, it seems Hillary was busy going to fund raisers in deep blue California and New York instead of campaigning and holding rallies in Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin. Trump spent little time at fund raisers, but spent a lot of time campaigning and having rallies in Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin. Trump told the white working class and union households he would work to make their lives better and bring back jobs. Hillary was telling them they didn't have it so bad under Obama and she would be Obama's third term. Then it was back to another fund raiser.

Bill Clinton and the Republican Congress were the LUCKY beneficiaries of a "DOTCOM" boom and a peace dividend from the end of the Cold War. They still never really balanced the budget as claimed, they simply put the Social Security Trust Fund into the General Fund and claimed they balanced the budget.

While that is true they still were not dysfunctional as they are today.

I'll always remember the older Bush in his last election making some kind of negative comment about Bill Clinton playing the sax on MTV, thinking that Clinton was some kind of idiot because you don't win presidential elections by playing the sax on MTV.

Michelle: Hillary Is On Drugs - Ed Klein

Ed Klein is a gossip columnist who spreads lies under the guise of "unnamed sources".

Seriously.

You connect with the people in anyway you can even if it playing a sax on MTV. Hillary has always struck me of being aloof, one of the elites too good to get her hands dirty. Bill, he was one of the guys. If I had to pick any president to have a beer or two with, it would be Bill. Hillary, I just want to avoid her and her snobbish, standoffish ways.

I actually agree with most of what you wrote but it is my belief that Bill Clinton did the best job of any president in recent history and I think a large part of that was him working with the Republican congress and their "Contract With America" to actually get things done, something that Obama has completely failed to do with a Republican congress. Dysfunction over the last few years rests on the shoulders of both parties.

Bill understands the grass roots more and has better intuition while Hillary was married to the status quo establishment during a time when the whole world wanted to throw the establishment bums out. She didn't need to address the concerns of blue states because blue states were blue. Heck, she never even went to Wisconsin, a "blue" state with a Republican governor and Republican members of congress but a blue state was blue.

If there is any room for us to agree it comes down to how Bill Clinton represented Democrats at the time against how Hillary Clinton wanted to represent Democrats today. In terms of Liberalism Bill Clinton was much more mild and center politically, where as Hillary is more Authoritarian Liberal regardless and had to re-branded herself as more left leaning on social / economic issues.

That said, perhaps Bill Clinton is the best of the worst Presidents we have seen in recent times.

For this election, Hillary relied on a name, experience, and her gender... but failed to capture enough of the very vote that got Obama past McCain and Romney. She screwed up, and worst of all establishment Democrats today helped her screw up.

"Dysfunctional" as in grid lock in Washington is NOT a bad thing. They're out of our pocketbooks then and the last time we had a ONE party rule in Washington, we got ObamaCare. Careful what you wish for!

To be fair, Hillary Clinton has served as FLOTUS, a two-term United States Senator, U.S. Secretary of State, and one of only 109 Americans in the history of this country to ever earn Electoral College votes while losing the presidential election.

Hillary is a LOT of things, but an "un"accomplished politician is not one of them.

That was an opinion. I think she is an awful politician - even worse than Trump. And Trump is pretty bad. She is a lot of other things as well and I won't get into them here.

Maybe, or maybe Bill's people are on a project to protect his legacy as much as possible from the Hillary debacle.

Thing is I kinda believe the stories...... I can see Hillary wanting to do this on her own, I know she has little talent so I can for sure believe that she took the advice of her people who did not want Bill around trampling on their advice....Hillary is exactly the kind of person who would say "My husband won the job and had the job for 8 years but his advice is no good".

Then of course after all that I can see Bill being pissed.

It is way early though, a lot more tales are on the way.
