Donald Trump Says He'll Deport 2-3 Million People Once In Office : The Two-Way : NPR

Wow, that's some big number, isn't it? Oh, wait. Obama had hit the 2.5M mark already.
Obama Has Deported More People Than Any Other President - ABC News

So it appears Der Dumbpster is now just trying to match Obama's record rather than any achieve any new feat. This is just the first of what will be a series of walk-backs Der Dumbpster will have to do to even have a chance of any kind of success. I earlier suggested that he'd really piss off his base with this but, on second thought, I doubt they'll even care. They've never been bothered by being lied to and watching their elected leaders fail miserably before.

If you believe that Obama has deported 2.5 million people then why aren't liberals marching in the streets accusing Obama of being a Nazi who hates Brown people?

Interesting.. so you like his plan to deport many illegal immigrants? But you think he should step it up, because Obama did more?

the right wing bubble is starting to burst. Obama deported as many illegals as congress allowed.

Obama changed the definition of what counts as a deportation to up the numbers, its called juking the stats

How long did it take Obama to deport all those illegals? How many of them turned around and came right back? How many criminal illegal aliens did Obama release back into American society?

Once you have the answer to all those questions, then ask these questions:

Is Trump going to stop after deporting 2-3 million criminal illegal aliens? Is he going to take 8 years to get rid of them? Is he going to prevent them from coming back in? Is he going to release ANY criminal illegal aliens back into American society?

Look. You are the one who wants to compare Trump to Obama. Cool. So, let's compare them...apples to apples...eh?

If you believe that Obama has deported 2.5 million people then why aren't liberals marching in the streets accusing Obama of being a Nazi who hates Brown people?

Because Obama is a Democrat.

3 million people deported by Obama = good.

3 million people deported by Trump = bad.

Executive orders, violation of classified information laws, the nuclear option, and grabbing p**** are other things that Democrats have suddenly decided are bad.

It has been one of the criticisms from the left but all of the other things Obama has done to protect certain vulnerable groups of law abiding, but undocumented aliens (e.g., people who were brought here as children and have never known another country and refugees offsets that for most of the deportations) has blunted most of that criticism. There's also the fact that a lot of the deportees were, in fact, criminals. Unlike your side who wants to round round up people an put them in concentration camps (and then call other people nazis--and thanks by the way for allowing me to invoke Godwin's Law which automatically makes your argument worthless).

Ah the strawman gambit. I think it's the rightwing's favorite because it's so lazy and reflexive. No thinking required at all. Just substitute your words in the the other side's position and pat yourself on the head like you really did something.

Went right over your head, as with all the other 'wingers who've responded. You try to derail the point which is, "what about the other 9 million that he promised to deport?" I guess you're so used to being screwed by the people you elect that it doesn't even register anymore.

the right wing bubble is starting to burst. Obama deported as many illegals as congress allowed.
Really? Did he 'deport' that many or did he simply chnage how deportation (any stop along the border) is defined? And can you show the congressional limit on enforcement of the law?

Who wants to round up people and put them in concentration camps? You will sprain your ankle from that much hyperbole.

ommmigggodddd, you don't even know Congress passes immigration laws? I give up on you.

The last immigration law passed by Congress was 2005 (The "Real ID" act). The point is the INS not Congress, enforces the immigration laws, not Congress.

Well, the Democrats were the last one's who did that..... so maybe they want to do it again?

You people are funny. You make up all sorts of excuses for why your politicians are such ****-ups and, likewise, a whole bunch of BS for any success by a dem. I think my favorite example is when you accept all the job growth reports when a R is in the presidency but they immediately become "faked" as soon as a D is in. You're all a collective one-trick dog and always have been and you keep pretending we've never seen it before. Speak, Rover, Speak!! Roll over, Rover, Roll Over!!!

Meh, it is a decent start.

There' no lie however old and false that doesn't get recycled by the rightwingers. It's the only "environmental" thing they do.

Your statement above is incorrect.

ommmigggodddd, you don't even know Congress passes immigration laws? I give up on you.

Congress does not put a quota on how many illegals can be deported.

If you're going to slam Trump, please quote him. The ignorance of the non-rural-whites is getting out of control.

Let me quote him for you, specifically addressing your misguided rant.

"What we are going to do is get the people that are criminal and have criminal records — gang members, drug dealers — we have a lot of these people, probably 2 million, it could be even 3 million. We're getting them out of our country or we're going to incarcerate. But we're getting them out of our country, they're here illegally.

"After the border is secured, and after everything gets normalized, we're going to make a determination on the people that you're talking about — who are terrific people, they're terrific people. But we're going to make a determination ... but before we make that determination, Leslie, it's very important, we're going to secure our border."

Let me slow it down for you.
1. get illegals who have comitted other crimes, out immediately.
2. get the border secure (duh, so that any deportation actually means something!)
3. make a determination on the remaining illegal immigrants

You are implying he will ONLY do #1. When clearly he's addressing everything in a seemingly comprehensive, intelligent manner.

Notice he is ACCEPTING the anger of those who oppose illegal immigration. He's addressing the worst, first.
At that point, once they have what they have been raging about for years, their anger may soften on those here legally, and on those here illegally but who are in good standing.
This would be good for the entire nation, it would help reverse some of the anger towards LEGAL immigrants, and would possibly actually help those illegal immigrants get a path to citizenship, if they keep out of trouble and integrate, or whatever stipulations are on that.
Or he could do another pass and deport some, and keep some again...its up to him/us (in theory).

Catch and release deportations have never been part of the tally of deportations. The sad thing about this is that you can bet that there's a substantial number of the catch and release who were counted repeatedly...

Maybe you were to lazy to read the article I posted or maybe you don't have the ability

A closer examination shows that immigrants living illegally in most of the continental U.S. are less likely to be deported today than before Obama came to office, according to immigration data.
