He said he would get rid of Obamacare and yet now he is now sayin maybe he wil keep parts of it. The GOP wants to totally get rid oof it and I think that is what his voters heard. Is this a flip-flop? Will he ask his new Attorney General to appoint a special prosecutor to "lock up" Hillary and Bill Clinton like he promsied his voters. He seemd to be saying the opposite when he gave his victory speech and things he has said since then. Is this a flip-flop? How many other promises did he make that he might flip-flop on in the future? Do you have some suggestions as to the answer to the flip-flop question?

Presumably he'll back off all of them. Which is a good thing.

It would be very foolish for republicans to completely undo Obamacare, and they've essentially oriented themselves to be opposed to any other architecture, anyway. Their best bet would be to take out the tax on cadillac plans and the employer mandate, add in price transparency, and then claim that its problems are solved. I doubt they have the sense to do that, but it would probably be enough to appease their base which is about as hard to mould as play-dough.

He won't try to lock up Hillary. That was just campaign rhetoric. Watch the Hillary attacks fall to zero. They only wanted to derail her presidential run.

Of course, Trump played an effective campaign. He seduced a loyal base with inflammatory rhetoric, standing far out of the pack in the primaries. He continued his antics to stay firmly seated in the national spotlight, but he gradually dialed back the rhetoric.

I think Trump would be wise not to set the precedent of investigating and prosecuting leaders he disagrees with. He has to know that it could put him, in return, in a vulnerable position.

I think he'll go back on deporting millions of illegal immigrants (though he'll no doubt deport a lot). I also think most of his tough talk on foreign policy - trade deals and deals with iran, among other things - will end up being mostly talk.

Congrats on your first valid thread. This is a good question. I don't think Hillary will be locked up. I don't know about Obamacare. He says he wants to replace it with something so I guess we'll see if he actually has a substantial idea for that. It will have to be big or it won't go anywhere. I think he'll also flip on banning Muslim immigration. He may not take any refugees but I don't think he'll go so far as to shut down normal immigration.
