Or, has become increasingly common, that they think their ideas will make them the most money and get them the most influence, regardless of whether or not their ideas are actually best for the nation.

If a political leader Right , left, conservative or Liberal can unite America under one goal "the progress of America" something to help the economic problems of All Americans I will support them and they will have my praise.

But it's not going to happen because what it will take to actually fix America means putting off immediate good for long-term success and those people will never get elected. People are so focused on "gimme gimme gimme" right now, they don't want to invest in the future of the nation and that's why we continually fail. People have lost sight of the fact that what is ultimately best for everyone might not be best for themselves in the short-term. Any candidate running on a long-term plan will lose because their opponent will be promising free stuff right now.

We're still waiting for that trickle down to trickle down as well?
As I have said I walk no party line if you want to match mistakes of both parties you gonna be here quite a while.:peace

I'm still waiting for reduced spending.

I'm still waiting for reduced spending.

That will never happen from either party. Both of them have a decidedly liberal slant to them.

Hence Trump. At least there is a shot. However small it may be. With the other guy, no shot at all.

Unless Trump goes back to being the outsider and ignoring the GOP, it won't happen under him either. The GOP is ridiculously fiscally liberal.

It is my opinion that this division started at the political level For Americans look to their leaders.
Now the political leaders better do something to unite America or they will lose some maybe a majority of Americans to lead.:peace

If they actually get some real work accomplished, been a loooong time since that happened, and things actually improve for most Americans then they will have most Americans supporting them. If they fail most Americans will replace a bunch of them in two years. The clock starts ticking as they are sworn in and assume power.

Unfortunately for at least two years But they must reach out tob him. Trump has to use what he has. Next up the mid terms. Those that don't need to away.

We've spent the last eight years having the most radical leftist in power screwing over America every chance he got. So, no wonder the idea of an American Redoubt was born. It's not a new concept, it has been around for a while. Yes, we would love a united country but the left isn't interested in unity. They are interested in shoving their asinine ideology down our throats.

If the leftists in Portland have a job, they better get to it instead of rioting.

Seems like Congress had a majority of the Republicans . Congress does play a role in the governing of a nation does it not?:
However let us not talk about the past mistakes by both parties but the future where 1 political party has the power in government across the board.
Now President elect Trump's speech said now is the time to heal old wounds and to the people that did not vote for me I ask your help and support to unite America.
As I have said I will answer president Trump's call I will support him and anything I can do to help I will I have criticized and condemned the anti Trump protesters.
However I see a lot of negative ads against the Democrats , but as the old slang expression goes "WHERE'S THE BEEF" what policies are expected to get better and when.:peace

That's all well and good but that's also politics When Obama ran he promised change then said it would be a long time coming, The Republicans were the first to ask "just how long are we talking here" I waited 4 years then I started to question the Democratic party I got no answers merely a speech. I left the Democratic party there are many more like me now because most of the past 8 years Republicans has blamed the Democratic president , The Democrats blamed the Republican Congress. Example was the Democratic administration allowed to appoint a Supreme Court Justice? What was the Congress approval rating in 2015 and 2016 , I'll let you look that up:peace

Reduced spending has happened it's a little thing called budget cuts might want to look that up.:peace

Well as I have said I will support President Trump and help anyway I can..:peace

I have voted in every election I could in this one too,
However I never made excuses for the person or party I voted for before he/she was sworn in.:peace

There is one touchy subject in this election
Basicly Trump was voted over the top to win this election by white working class and white middle class voters a lot of them. much more than usual.
This is not a bad thing if you are an American citizen , no matter your political preference you should vote. I made that statement in 1976 I stand by it today.
The situation is not all these White working class and middle class voting. The situation is promises were made especially jobs.
Now first I will say up front I believe in equal rights for all Americans I marched for Civil rights.
However African Americans have been lied to by politicians before as as the gays and the elderly which just keep trying.
However we all know the American labor situation in America especially white working class blue collar workers .
If Trump lies to them especially in states like W. Virginia , Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin there will be a reaction.
Of course I'm not saying President Trump won't bring back jobs if he does good , if he does not the protest today will seem like a cake walk.:peace

You got no right to complain either way then:peace

So Sorry to inform you, you have no control over what I, or anyone else says, on any topic. :boxer

I'm certainly not making excuses for Trump, I have never supported him and I only voted for him to keep Hillary out of office. I've always voted too. I've rarely been able to vote for someone worth voting for.

He voted third party

Johnson I believe

Third party candidates was not strong enough in this election to win . I can say as an Independent voter I did not like that but it is simply fact.
Sanders came really close after all he is an Independent.
Independent voters are growing run the numbers if you do not believe me.
It is my prediction that one day an Independent will be President.
Every election the two main parties have to work harder to get the Independent vote.:peace

And you sir have no control o9ver what opinion I can give on any subject.
For it is as you say "you have no control over what I ,or anyone else says on any subject" Your words are they not?:peace

I was not the one trying to tell others their opinion does not count. Nice try, Slick.

I earned the right.

Voting is a privilege in America that has been fought for and people has died for if you use it you have that right if not well?
You tell me what is so important about voting .
Just two scenario.
Two white boys and one African American boy , went to Mississippi to try to get the African American vote , they were killed in Mississippi.
WOMEN MARCHED FOR THE VOTE.
So if people don't use it why was it so important to get?:peace

So is Trump - stand by for lower taxes and higher spending.
