As someone who is often at odds with the goals of the DNC, I must say, yes please make Bernie Sanders the chair. I'll never feel conflicted again.

The Democratic party should return to its roots, back to Kennedy's Democratic party ( minus the overt racism of-course ), back to my Grandfathers Democratic party when they represented the working man, the common man and not the interest of rich wallstreet donors and special interest.

They need to clean house, get rid of the Professional Politicians, the corruption and the bottom feeders who have destroyed the brand in the name of greed and partisan objectives.

They need to focus on ethics because the party has become synonymous with corruption, lies and deceit

That will never happen. The Dem Party died a long time ago. The radical leftists run the party of corruption now. The days of doing what is best for the country, not the leftist/socialist ideology, are over. If the those days were still here, the left wouldn't be trying to "fundamentally change," the country.

Oh I know. The fact that they think survival depends on turning hard left shows how out of touch with reality they are.

:agree: My parents and grandparents were very loyal Democrats, but they would not recognize the party today, IMO. All of my siblings still are, but somewhat reluctantly - one brother told me he could not vote for Hillary because of her focus on things that seemed to be more beneficial to her than people like himself, so he wasn't going to vote this year for the first time in his life. His main complaint was lack of jobs, since he has a business with crews that work for him, and he said his phone sure isn't ringing much these days. Interesting that we have this dichotomy when our infrastructure is deteriorating and needed upgrading long before yesterday, so we'll see what happens next.

I believe the hard left turn and the desire to "fundamentally transform" the country is born out of fear. They are frightened at the idea of standing on their own two feet and then they project that on others by the constant reminder, "life is hard." I can't count the number of times Globalist Granny told her followers that.

I have no idea what "should happen" to the DNC. In fact, I don't care what happens to them. But I've been reading some articles that indicate that they are eating their own...blaming anybody...anything...instead of taking their own responsibility.

Now, they are blaming Dirty Donna for Trump's victory.

The biggest problem the democrats have is that they've completely turned their backs on middle and upper class white people. They've been so busy kowtowing to minorities that they've ostracized the majority of Americans. I'm not trying to sound like a white supremacist, but the democrats need to start reaching out to ALL people. Connect with blacks, whites, evangelicals, gays...EVERYONE. Stop with this "fair share" garbage, which is a thinly veiled attempt to loot the rich. Stop promising things to black people that you won't execute. Stop trying to pass laws that only benefit your base, while punishing the rest. Perfect example was Obama's "tanning bed law." Black people don't tan. This was a blatantly racist law. Stop it.

The DNC went from political powerhouse to "KA BOOOM" in just on night,, The Clinton's have no political power anymore, I don't know if the Obama's can fill that void..

I never saw so many jaws on the floor in my life as I switched between CNN and MSNBC the other night..

I remember that the republicans were stunned that Romney lost in 2012 but not to the caliber that I have witnessed these last couple days.

I think they will recover by 2020 though and roll out a new hero..

Maybe it's time for them to get rid of the old guard and bring in the new..

Actually, I find this thread to be a bit presumptive.

Had the DNC ran Elizabeth Warren instead of Hillary, it's altogether possible that we'd now be asking this question about the RNC.

Indeed, considering the fact that way, way more Hispanic Catholics voted for Hillary than for Donald, if enough of them keep moving to Texas as they're doing, and Texas becomes Democratic prior to 2020 ..

.. And then they make citizens out of 22 million illegals (or maybe 24 million by then) after the Democrats win the White House in 2020 ..

.. The RNC will cease to exist as we know it.

This is a load of crap.

Democrats lost because Clinton failed to get enough support from young voters and minorities in key battle ground states.

If she had gotten the same support Obama did from blacks, hispanics, Asians, and young voters in those states, she would have beaten Trump.

BTW, Trump didn't do any better with white voters than a typical GOP candidate. Romney actually did slightly better in 2012.

I wouldn't go that far, but the DNC isn't in as bad shape as everyone claims. They just chose a bad candidate this time around who lost to another bad candidate. Most Americans were repulsed by the choices they had in 2016.
