Too much food - food doesn't buy other necessities/luxuries, unless you sell it to someone. They have all the food. Theyll be fine.

California could absolutely survive on its own and continue to be a first world economy. Moreover, a Calexit would probably force much of the northeast to leave as well. Middle America might laugh, but there are reasons there are so few jobs in middle america at the moment - no interest in investment there, a population that has not kept up skills-wise with the modern economy, poor education..... none of that will be solved by a general liberalexit. What is the most analogous economy to middle america outside the U.S.? Poland?
The point is that California wouldn't have to survive without food, because middle america would sell it to them. Unless you think middle america would just bar exports to California out of spite, which would be like cutting off your middle finger to throw at someone. There are plenty of countries that thrive without an in-house bread basket, in any event. There are not as many countries that thrive without technology or investment money. And I don't think many investors would be interested in spiteful corn growers.Thats the idea. But the point is they can survive without luxuries. Can California survive without food?
Texas is the 2nd largest economy in the US. Theyll be fine.
The right-wing red states have all the military bases and all the troops are right-wingers. They would never let California go peacefully. It's sad because California could really be a world leader in multiculturalism and climate.
I don't think they'll leave, but literally the same arguments could have been (and were) made about brexit. UK isn't dead yet.Poland actually has a thriving economy and they are building it up more.
There is a lot of big tech companies there and more are coming.
The mid west is mostly farms and crops.
These people are educated and they know a great deal.
If ca would try and exit you would see a mass exodus of people not wanting to give up their us citizenship.
Companies would move as well looking for new places to sell their goods.
Ca would then have to strike up trade agreements with the us.
Border control would have to setup entrance areas from ca to the rest of the US And you would need a passport.
They are not going to exit.
They depend to much on the rest of the US to support them.
