The voters have given control of the gov to the GOP. What I want know is what everyone is hoping for now?

These are things I'm hoping for.

1. I want the animosity to stop. I want civility between people who disagree to be restored. This comes by giving people the resect and the dignity they desrve.

2. I want honesty instead of the common place feeding people political red meat to get them to act like a bunch of cheer leaders. The truth is that some of the solutions on the right make the most sense and some from the left do. I want to see policians show the political courage to tell people the othersides approah to a problem makes more sense and explain why, instead of reframing things so they look like their correct and ther side is lying to them.

3. I know im being idealistic but i want to see political discouse reformed. I want to see my brother and sisters on the right and the left be reminded that we are a family.

I bet when you started reading my post you didn't think it was going to be about this, lol. Discussion about policy is welcome here too. I favor freemarket and individuals freedoms. Im for a smaller less intrusive gov. Im open to discussion on the pros and cons of those things.

I think honesty and tolerance for those we disagree with has to become a top priority. I hope we can all together and realize that we all generally see and want to fix the same problems. The argument is more about what the best solutions are.

I’ve been on many political forums since Al Gore invented the internet. I’ve been banned from more of them than I can remember and I can tell you with certainty, the left is not interested in civility. I tried many, many times to meet them halfway on issues over the years and it always turns out it’s either their way, or the highway. They simply want you to shut up and conform. And if you fail to conform, then you will be attacked mercilessly. So prepare yourself.

You can forget unity. The left isn’t interested, especially on a national level. Oh, you’ll get maybe one or two that will play along for a while but in the end they will put their ideology above all else. Eventually when they discover you won’t conform to their way of thinking, you suddenly are racist, bigoted, blah blah blah. Globalist Granny said it best when she declared anyone who holds a different view belongs in what she calls, “a basket of deplorables,” and if not, you are, “irredeemable.” As if she is some kind of deity. But this is the way the left thinks, how can one reconcile with such people?

It’s best to converse with like-minded people. You said you were for smaller less intrusive govt, free markets and, individual freedom, well, good luck with that. The left now considers you lower than whale crap and you might as well shut up and immediately conform to socialism or get the heck out. BO once said he wanted to, “fundamentally change,” the nation and the leftists cheered. What the left desires is to fundamentally change the nation into something that it was never meant to be, namely, a socialist cesspool. How does one reconcile with people who want to destroy your country?

Anyway, best wishes to you, I hope you find what you are looking for.

I'm hoping for 1) a final solution to the 22 million illegal aliens that permanently prevents them from ever becoming U.S. citizens unless they leave and get in line again, and 2) indeed, as Trump in effect promised, an increase in the power of individual American citizens and a severe decrease in corporate, union, and lobbyist power.

This is a very fixable problem. If they tied immigration visas to drivers license so that they both expire at the same time it would make next to impossible for people to hide their status
