"We owe Hillary a major debt of gratitude” – Trump

Somehow, when thousands can't get in to join the thousands inside, the "forced upon" just doesn't sound very convincing.

Would you like to rephrase it?

No I would not rephrase that, both the major two Parties presented unacceptable candidates as their candidates, one of you had to win, and in my opinion the Nation lost, and would have either way.

Not much different than Obama with Hillary... and, of course, Obama DID give her a job. Much to his probable regret right now...

Good point. He probably should have supervised her handling of classified info better.

She paid the price for her behavior--the American people barred her from entering the White House. Pursuing her to the ends of the earth at this point is petty and foolish. Trump won, she lost. He needs to focus on governing, not settling old scores. If he does the latter, he will be gone in four years.

Not really the people though. Shell win more popular votes. It was rural america that did her in. Dems never learn to respect them.

He probably should have supervised? Are you serious?

He KNEW he was sending his emails to her private account. To cover it up, he used a fake name.

That is why he told his DoJ to lay off of her.

The SofS position combined with the emails and Clinton Foundation pay for play accusations, in my opinion, made her quite flawed. She was a scofflaw in each of those things conveniently forgetting that perception is reality. One can't help but think she seriously believed she was above the law.

Honestly, I don't blame them. They have a problem, the same problem concervatives have (had?).

Question for you.

Did the typical democrat working stiff have any say on who made it onto the ballots during primaries? Did they have an awful lot of say on who won that primary?

In my opinion, the answer is a resounding NO.

Democrats were let down by their establishment.

Individually, nobody has any say in this country, your individual vote simply doesn't matter. Collectively though, everyone takes part in the process and I think collectively, both sides failed. Clinton was a horrible candidate. So was Trump. The problem is that nobody on either side was worth voting for and that goes all the way back to the primaries. Bernie was a disaster. The GOP clowncar was a disaster. None of these people ought to be President. We just don't get anyone running in any party that deserves the job. And the reason is that all parties cater to the extremists, not the rank and file, because they know the rank and file doesn't have any choice but to vote for them. So long as that's true, we will never have worthwhile candidates in this country.

How will the "Nation" lose under Trump?

We can walk and chew gum at the same time.

Trump can be president without ever hearing the name Hillary ever again. All he has to do is leave the case in the hands of the FBI after Comey is fired and the DoJ.

Can you please explain how in your universe is not being elected president a punishment enough for a felony?

You want to give her a pass because she is a Clinton? Then how diffefrent is that from the corrupt Negro running his corrupt DoJ running their corrupt Comey driving his honest agents crazy?

You want to explain that?

It's a good sign from Trump. Who knows, maybe he will stop being blatantly misogynistic and spouting conspiracy theories. It could happen.

He shouldn't fire Comey, but allow him to continue the investigation into the Foundation. I don't see the point of pursuing the email thing at this point unless the missing emails appear. If congress wants to waste it time on that, so be it.

True to form, Trump immediately forgets all the nasty stuff he said and talks about Clinton like shes his best friend. Remember he said she was a nasty woman, she was going to be in jail, lock her up.

One call and 5 mins later, we owe her a debt of gratitude. I wonder if he will be giving her a job next.

He was friends with the Clintons and even donated money. I suspect this man did whatever it took to win and he knew exactly what people wanted to hear. I doubt he is going to be as conservative as he leads on. His acceptance speech gave a glimpse of this.

Not really the people though. Shell win more popular votes. It was rural america that did her in. Dems never learn to respect them.

Other than a few blueberry counties here and there, the board was nearly all red

Those are real people with real lives just like the ones that live in the cities

They deserve a say in who runs this country too

Those flyover states as many democrats like to call them are important

The world doesn't revolve around Los Angeles, New York, Boston, and San Francisco

And yeah, that is where the presidency was won...in those small counties...vote by vote

Charged with what exactly? I know fascists like to jail their political opponents, so I can see why the idea would appeal to Trump and yourself, but as she has been cleared of any wrongdoing, you'll find it hard to come up with convincing phoney charges.

There are a lot of things she should most probably stand court for and one would hope she must. It may be a fascist thing to jail opponents, but it is also nasty stuff to let criminals go, because you are afraid that someone might think it was political. The latter is a hugely bad precedent to let stand and motivates further criminal behavior by people we must entrust power to.

Trump fooled people into thinking he was an anti-establishment candidate. He was the billionaire Republican nominee for God's sake; nothing anti-establishment about him, and this proves it. 5 minutes as President-elect and he's praising Hillary—that's going to piss off a lot of Trumpeters.

Why wouldnt he praise Hillary the Trumps and Clintons are friends

I hope not. Too much distraction for Trump's new administration. I honestly hope that Obama pardons her of any possible crimes. She can then be sentenced to watch CNN every night, where she will still be proclaimed the true "winner".

You really want to leave the idea in the minds and hearts of Americans that we let a criminal at that level go?

I feel the same way about every presidential pardon. Trump has far more important things to accomplish that being bogged down with the trial of a loser.

Its called being gracious in victory. Trump won. Hillary surrendered. The war is over. You shake hands and move on. Trump supporters that don't understand this need to be marginalized.

Exactly. Hillary was down, Trump could've kicked her. He didn't. He was being classy.

Well, I do wonder if she will be facing a judge in a few weeks.

Why would she face a judge?

Obama's administration will not do anything to her.

I think the focus should be much wider.

All the people around her thought they would be protected for what they did because she is a Clinton.

Every one of those people that did something wrong should be prosecuted so next time people will know they will not be protected.

All this immunity that was handed out like candy was ridiculous.

I doubt the President would get deeply involved in court decision making.

I doubt the President would get deeply involved in court decision making.

He would need to be involved in the ruckus that Hillary supporters raise from the court proceedings. Though I am not advocating submitting to the "Put me on trial.... I"ll call for mobs" type threat, Trump does need to make priorities.

Dealing with the side effects of the trial of Hillary Clinton would impact other priorities. Likewise, there would probably not be one trial, but trials as there is a significant possibility of hung juries. In addition, such a trial will not even be possible if Obama issues a blanket pardon on January 19.
