I believe politics has become too simple both in the USA, my country Sweden and also in other countries. That both politicians, the media and us citizen are to blame that to focus on simple and often also negative messages.

This can be one of the reason Donald Trump won. That his and his supporters simple message of change and that Hillary is a crook trumped Hillary’s and her supports simple message of Donald being an idiot.

That in reality politics are a lot more complex. For example, established candidate Hillary had some anti established promises. Like for example free college that could make it possible for more children with low income parents to be part of the economic and political leadership in 20-30 years. Instead of children lucky enough to born to rich parents. Clinton also pledged constitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United that could increase ordinary peoples voices in politics over the wealthy.

While change promising Donald Trump wanted to continue the decade old politics of more tax cuts that especially benefit the rich. That yes there are a lot of other policies from both candidates but still show the complexity of politics that as I understand it wasn’t discussed in this election.

Finally, you Americans can of course correct me if I got the wrong impression of your election.
