It's understood that one side of the gulf is short on tolerance. And I am not insensitive to that. However, there comes a time when one must realize they bet on a losing horse. Their ideology is not the favored ideology of the masses. Thus the election results. I know. Nobody wants to accept the fact that maybe they are the one, who is out of step. We shall soon find out.
If Trump wins, the left is going to have to accept the fact that they were not in the majority, ideologically, this time around. The same if Clinton wins. If Clinton wins, the Trump people, are going to have to accept the same facts that they are not in line with popular opinion on any given ideology.
What do you propose? That a minority of the population shove their ideology down the throat's of the majority?
This is what we do. We vote. We live with the results.
I cannot recall a single election where we were not told, "This is the most important election in our lifetimes!"
Besides, Trump might win. Nobody can say for sure really.
Either way, its not going to be the end of the world and I'm reasonably sure the sky won't fall.

First of all, if you would please quit using phrasing that disguises what you are really saying, or trying to say. Makes it harder to agree or disagree properly. You say you are a centrist, but being a centrist in Wisconsin may not fit the regular or normal definition.
Listen, I think I have your meaning on being out of step... not having the favor of the masses. With the parties now less and less each divided into a mix of liberal, moderate and conservative as they used to be, each having taken more to the extremes of conservatism and liberalism almost exclusively, we have a HUGE ideological and cultural divide.
It matters not who is currently
considered out of step, the conservative party is sticking with the ideology, the framework of thinking and governing that has brought
us all, in such abundance, luxury, strength and prosperity, to this dance as the not only a VIC, a very important country, but the absolutely MIC, the most important country.
No, I am not saying a small "minority of the population shove their ideology down the throat's of the majority" as has been done to us all exampled by a very small minority [federal judges, the Supreme Court and 1-5% of our population] pressing upon us such things gay marriage/gay special rights and all the silly and endless LBGT hand-wringing.
No, what I am saying is that a substantial minority approaching at least half, if not a majority, separate from the other large socialist and forced social engineering segment that will require/mandate the rest of us supplicate to their ideology, no matter what.
We have lived with the results in the past and this has resulted in handing over a country lesser than what we, ourselves, inherited. Many of us can no longer go along to get along with this suicidal and voluntary downturn. Time to take a stand for our posterity. And I agree, adapt as did our founders. When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth...
And I suggest doing this with simple passive resistance, noncompliance,
en masse, with all offending Federal dictates that are simply unpalatable to a good and decent people, wherever in the US they may now reside.
The Federal government cannot afford to put us all in jail. As has been repeatedly stated, they cannot even afford to deport all the illegal lawbreakers who have entered into our country.
