When did america stop being great

Very simplistic analysis

Care to back up your claim? Can you compare the bush administration to Obama's? Why was no one whining about how America wasn't great during the last decade?

The Question I posed is a rhetorical one - It's a joke. No one was bitching about America not being great during the Bush Administration. Literally the next day after the election, November 5th 2008, you heard the first whinings about how America has fundamentally changed and the same patriotic individuals that dropped a load in their pants over Natalie Maines's comment about"being embarrassed Bush was from Texas" have showed their boundless patriotism by ****ting on the current President almost daily.

Actually America has never been greater...That is true for almost all humans across the globe...Despite Media and fear mongering...Right now it is the best time to be alive and living, than any other period of the history.

Crime is the lowest country wide. More people graduate H.S and go to college, people live healthier longer lives, that is just alone in US.

Globally, Less people die from war, poverty and disease than any other time in recorded human history


Trump like a snake oil salesman is trying to target certain group of people who have designated themselves as the custodian of this country, and yes there has been a great demographic shift, mainly due to mass migration which ironically is due to improve living conditions globally. And these self appointed custodians, are feeling the threat of losing power and/or ownership. So of course they will flock to ONE person who fans their fears and offer the solution if being elected HE and HE alone will make everything Right, MOSTLY BY "Correcting" the Demographic SHIFT!

Sadly History has not be very kind to people like donald trump or the mass flock who follow him.

I think America was always great. It's just that after the 80s, Europe began getting better than us with their universal healthcare, low murder rates, tolerance, and overall relaxed attitude on social issues (though the US has the least restrictions on abortion in the developed world).
