The one poll everyone talks about is the Gallup poll which did have Carter up in mid-October. But the sum of all the polling consistently had a Reagan lead through October and even Gallup's last poll showed him with a lead.

And while Clinton's margin has shrunk by 10 over the last week in the ABC poll, the IBD/TIPP that all the Trump supporters had been raving about as the most accurate poll has swung 8 points toward Clinton in the same time frame. Now Trump supporters have convienently forgotten the IBD poll exists while Clinton supporters have stopped trumpeting the ABC poll as a paragon of accuracy and there've been a few left wing sites have written the last couple of days about all the methodological errors that the ABC poll has. Individual tracking polls inherently have a lot of noise.

It's easy to cherry pick polls that favor your own side.
People need to look more at the sum of all the data,

People might overlook Trump's loud mouth,but they're not going to ignore his bigotry towards Mexicans and Muslims or his mistreatment of ladies.

Dude - syphilis is curable. With a pill. It's real easy, you take the pill twice a day for a couple of weeks, and the syphilis goes away.

I'm sorry but if you're saying Trump and Hillary are equally dangerous I'd have to question your sanity. Donald Trump is far more dangerous than Hillary is. If Trump wins he'll start throwing people in jail (and rounding them up and deporting them), and other people aren't going to like that. If Trump wins the election I'd be very concerned for his personal safety.

People do not give a rat's ass about the words coming out of Donald's mouth (or if they do it's only because they're abjectly liberal and therefore too stupid to understand what Donald Trump is all about).

All that stupidity is Hollywood, it's a made up reality, it's like the inside of a Steven Spielberg movie. None of that stuff really exists. Our lying Bull**** Media (tm) never told the public the full truth, all they did was edit a couple of sound bites and sensationalize them. And I mean, if you're too stupid to see through Hollywood then you must be a liberal. Because conservatives can definitely tell the difference between reality and fantasy. That's the trouble with today's liberals, they've lost the ability to discriminate. I think they're both frightening. Trump has no knowledge or respect enough to learn about the Constitution, and Hillary simply doesn't care about it.

I think they'll both start some huge war. And I hope the guy carrying the "football" is a reasonable man and defends the world with his pistol if Hillary or Trump decides to start lobbing nukes.

One day, the bear will get up and say NO MORE!

It would be wise to stop and leave the bears alone.

But some feel empowered and entitled to keep poking at any and all opportunities.

You know every single morning I get on the site and every single morning I slog through thread after thread from Trump's supporters calling Libs and Dems every name in the book, and/or them making racists comments about Blacks, Mexicans, whoever. But we never hear a peep from you criticizing them? Why?

And as a matter of fact a few days ago I asked you why you were criticizing Clinton people here for name calling BUT in a previous post in that very same thread YOU called all Clinton supporters 'brain dead'. So in your eyes it's OK for the Trump side, INCLUDING you to name call? But no one else? I can't say Trump supporters can't think for themselves. But YOU can call all Clinton supporters 'brain dead?

You want to find a cause for the 'rift' you and yours need to look in a mirror. You do a lot of preaching here. Maybe you should take some of your own advice.

There are some deep psychological reasons there. But I'll leave it alone. I'm going to go use my psychology skills elsewhere.

Yeah - this is a monster move, especially when considering the movement occurred within the same poll, and only 4 days apart!

Other polls are also showing big intra-poll movement, including Fox, so something's definitely shaking here. And as you mentioned, these recent polls are pre-Comey announcement.

After reading the poll itself, it appears quite a few things are happening, but predominate is 'likely turnout' spiking for Trump, and conversely dipping for HRC. The Trump spike seems to reflect alienated Republicans coming back home, including women.

It's powerful stuff.

Both of them are rotten, evil snake-oil salesmen. I wouldn't vote for either one. Trump gets my dander up more because he was chosen from a list of candidates, any one of which flat-out must have been a better choice. Clinton was foisted on the public, with only a token alternative offered.
And Trump, I'm convinced, is a wanna-be fascist strong-man.
