Rats ... Ship

Colbert mercilessly mocks Obamacare.

In other news, prog Matthew Yglesias famously posted this tweet in summer of 2013:

Yesterday that tweet was deleted.

This reminds me of a quote from veep "And if they smell blood, if they think you're going down and there's gonna be a kill, you might get what we call corpse ****ing"

Obamacare is now past the partisanship stage into the blood in the water corpse ****ing stage.

According to the architect of Obamacare, one Jonathan Gruber, Obamacare is working as designed. I believe that has been echoed by BO, so if they say Obamacare is remarkably wonderful, it must be. They wouldn't lie. LMAO

What makes you think that he isn't being 100% truthful?

Single payer was the goal all along. What better than a "crisis that needs fixing" to get us there?

Oh, I agree. Don't get me wrong. Obamacare was designed to fail.

I don't know how any honest person can imagine that the ACA, only accomplished after much compromise with this country's shameless fascists, is still Obama's idea. This is really a fine example of how the left must be satisfied with incremental progress in the face of perpetual right wing douchebaggery.

The idea that any service to the people should exist outside the greed paradigm that so many conservatives believe creates efficiency and incentive is the problem. No benefit to the citizens of this country can be created absent that corrosive, poisonous idea. Then, when greed and public service prove themselves to be incompatible, the right calls it the failure of SOCIALISM, of all things, rather than the failure of greed.

If there is truly an inherent failure in socialism, it is that it doesn't recognize the FACT that a certain percentage of the people will always be ready to piss in the lemonade rather than see it shared among everyone. All throughout human evolution, the intellectual dregs of humanity have fought, tooth and nail, to keep us stagnant and oppressed. Socialized medicine is just another battleground for the few elite and their hoard of progress-phobic knuckle-draggers, who grunt in celebration of their treachery.

Affordable healthcare will never be a reality as long as half the country piously and blindly worships unfettered wealth. Healthcare for all doesn't preserve the need/greed hierarchy, after all, and THAT, more than anything, defines the rift between right and left.

Grunt away, righties. Evolution goes on without you.

There is really no reason to read beyond this point. There is only so much ignorance and hackery that I can tolerate within a single post, and yours has already swept past that limit. But thank you for proving the OP's point. Rats are fleeing so fast that they are now claiming Obamacare isn't Obamas. That's priceless, thanks.

Shameless fascists? You're talking about moderate Democrats. There was no negotiation with Republicans at all; they were completely cut out of that. The only thing most Republicans have ever said about the ACA is that they were going to abolish it when they were able to do so.

The rest of your post is merely a rationale for taking money and resources you haven't earned.

Well, it certainly was never the stated goal. Obama must've lied many multiple times with his $2,500 average savings nonsense (among other lies).

Or are you suggesting Obama was duped by Gruber as well?

Wow, that's gotta be the most verbose attempt at deflection and obfuscation I've ever seen. Congrats. :)

I'm suggesting that they took what they could get, initially, knowing full well that what they were getting would not work unless they could get the rest at some point in the future. We've now reached that point.

Que the cries for single payer in 3, 2, 1...

The rift between right and left exists primarily because of hyper partisan assholes who would rather devote their efforts to demonizing the opposition with the futile hope of "crushing" them than actually listening to the opposition in hopes of developing an understanding of why the rift exists in the first place.

Here's your sign...

Well if tat was their real goal they screwed the pooch with all of their side deals in the early years that were meant to keep the program appear viable. The private business-attached insurance market is alive and well. The only insurance that is in trouble is the stuff provided through the exchanges, and the state budgets straining from the expanded medicaid.

The old joke is still true: "Democrats pass groundbreaking new entitlement program. Women and Minorities hit hardest."

My point is, they lied.
